My life has been dotted with "things" happening, just "knowing" things, things materializing when I needed them, "loving feelings" that were all encompasing, for patients that I was with, that I knew were to show me something, but were for the patients benefit. So many things that I just took as normal in my life. Then I started hypnotherapy and I went to different worlds, understood myself in different ways and I came to wonder, Is what I see and believe as this world, nothing more than a reflection of what I understand in a "different" world? If I can see how I have created things in my life, based on what I believed to be true, am I actually creating this whole world that reflects exactly what I believe, in some part of me. Is it just showing itself to me in this world so I will look at it and think, "I don't like this in my life, why do I keep bringing this into my life, I am ready to change this." Then, in hypnotherapy, or in meditation, I will come to an understanding of why I believed this to be true or I would come to understand that this is not actually true. In hypnotherapy, just awake, talking about my special place, I was able to fly like an eagle, as an eagle. I felt the power of an eagle and I really WAS that eagle. It seems to me that in trance I can go to this whole other world where I am so much more and I realize that THIS is who I am, not this "person" who I believe myself to be.
I would really appreciate others comments on what they have witnesed in hypnotherapy and what they understand differently because of this.

Hey Donna, Even the slightest alteration in our reality can have a huge impact on how we feel and act --
Hi Wendy...

I have not yet read any replies to your discussion, and since I share the same kind of thoughts as your post I thought I would just reply and then read the other replies.

I am interested in our consciousness and its link with quantum theory, scientist have found that the results from experimenting with particles are always subject to the observers expectations or wherever the observer looks that will be the result.

I am no scientist, however it just goes to show that what your think and how you think does in fact create your reality, I believe this wholeheartedly and our subconscious mind is capable of changing the way we experience this world. I believe there are too many people in this world that live entirely by the left brain and therefore are subtly programmed by external influences like advertising, TV, tabloid newspapers ect... and anything that is kind of different eg; paranormal, religion, spirituality, even hypnotherapy. new age healing methods are swept under the carpet because of their lack of use of the right side of the brain. People have forgotten how to use the imagining, the all powerful memory bank of our being, the wise, it is not easily accesible to them because the world codes their belief and manipulates them to believe otherwise.

I sometimes wonder if the latest upsurge and popularity in hypnotherapy has come about to help people to learn to gain access to their subconscious mind, imagine the more people who have learnt how to access this part of the mind on a daily basis will surely produce a different kind of creative and peaceful person.

Look at tribes, they have their spiritual beliefs and live mostly happily until modern man interferes, this is just an example of how they use there imagining mind to create there harmony within there tribal life, and then modern man interferes with their nonsense approach to such beliefs and upsets the equilibrium.

Hope it makes sense.

Hello again,

Well, since people are describing real and reality, I’m happy to jump onto the band wagon myself.

I have only been into the self help thing for about 3 years and it was by accident. I know, no such thing as accidents…..I do believe that too.

I was at a Real Estate Wealth expo because my sister had an extra ticket, I'm not into real estate but Donald Trump was going to be there, this was before the apprentice show, and I thought I’d keep my sis company and it would be interesting hearing what Trump had to say. I didn’t care much for trump, but there was a hypnotist amongst all of the real estate and how to get rich people.

And when I heard what the hypnotist had to say…..I was hooked, I said to my sister, I need to know what he knows.

And one of the things he said that stood out was this:

“Reality is created through validation.”

My interpretation of that is, “if you think it’s real, then it is.”

Everybody has their own reality.
Where I did get trained, they used this analogy for explaining to clients how suggestibility is different for everyone and this correlates to this reality thing that we are defining here.

If there were ten people standing on the curb waiting for a bus and the bus sped by so close that any closer and it would have hit you, you may have two people who see that as a sign and will never take a bus again, you may have some think how cool, it came so close and didn’t hit anyone….someone could have been in a deep discussion and not even noticed.

What is reality?

It reminds me of a line from Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau when asked, “Who do you suspect?” “I suspect everyone and I suspect no one.”

I say, reality is everything and reality is nothing.

Our minds are so cool, that what was once a panic attack can now be the ultimate relaxation, when it is allowed to, it can make anything a reality.

The next time you are soaring down at incredible speeds with that clarity vision and you’re eying that fish in the water from a mile away….when you realize you missed your first fish, that fish could be me creating the ability to escape an eagle attack, and at that point before the outcome is realized.....we could could actually split into two different dimensions, one where you get the fish and another where I escape the eagle, each dimension separate from each other. See you on the flip flop.
Donna,
I love to just think, and see things from different angles. I have really enjoyed attempting to see things from someone elses perspective so I am so very grateful for all the comments.
No belief is right/wrong, it just is.
By the way, I hope you're not as hard on me for my spelling errors/typing guffs, as you are on yourself, I strongly doubt that you are:-)
Hey Steve :-)

I believe that I understand what you are saying, through my own filters ofcourse. Ha!
I can remember so many concepts that I used to think were "crazy/unbelievable" that are now part of my basic understanding of how things are. I am glad that it has happened enough times that now I can pretty much think, well, it's not part of my thruth at this time, but It may be true to me later.
I would like to be operating off a much more understanding/higher consciousness, but, truthfully, there are still some things that I think are just "nuts!" I'm working on it though.
I love Peter Sellers, I came across a quote assigned to him " If you ask me to play myself, I will not know what to do. I do not know who or what I am."
"Not now Kato!"

Wendy
Carol,
thank you for sharing these wonderful thoughts.
You are right, it seems we are always ready to jump in to tell others how they should be living their lives or that their beliefs are wrong. I must admit that I too have difficulty with some beliefs that people hold. Proponents of female castration is one, the belief that children are posessions to be treated however the parents wish, is another. I don't know how far I can go at this point to be totally at peace with other peoples choices.
It's easy to accept the beliefs that aren't too far from my own. I know that I have a long way to go before I can accept the beliefs that I see as hurtful.
It's just a big ripple after all... I can only hope to change myself.
Hello Participants In This Discussion --

The current issue of the Bleeping Herald has a "really" cool Blog by Cameron Day titled Multi-dimensional energy biology that speaks to our conversation-

Have a "real" day-

Snippet:
Quantum physics and ancient spiritual teachings agree that our experience of reality is determined by our beliefs and thought patterns. Neuro-plasticity continually reinforces the patterns of thought that we are comfortable with, causing information that runs counter to one’s beliefs to be ignored, while information that supports those beliefs is embraced.
Michael,
I just found your post here and checked out the website. It is very interesting. I went through the meditations too, how great that he would put so much on the website.
Thank you for sharing this.

Wendy
