I do not intend to play music generally while working with my clients, but I would like some music on standby. I have some ambient music but none that I think suitable for hypnotherapy, it has to be really quite, gentle and subtle, where as the music I have is gentle but a little too in your face to use with hyonotherapy.
look for nature music and the sound of dolphins or weals, very soothing, I use the nature allot and the native music but that is because I like it and for some reason I attract the type of the client that like what I like.
I also use the OM sound as a fading back round, it really depends on the client, I always ask them what background music you like and of course I give then an option to chose.
Feel free to visit my page or visit my site http://psimatix.com to check out some of my music. I have been involved professionally for years now composing and producing music that is very specifically intended for use in both creating and maintaining trance, and to hold the healing space for the client. I would be glad to address any questions you have regarding hypno-music and brainwave-entrainment music.
Great insight by Doreen -- If we pay attention we begin to realize that all of us tend to atract clients who are in harmony with our vibe -
FYI- Several years ago, I played a Peter Blum singing bowl CD through the office sound system of a medical/healing center where I was working -- that night as we were closing shop all of the practitioners who worked in the center were buzzing about how Blum's CD impacted how they were connecting to their patients and clients that day --- It became the center's theme music www.soundsforhealing.com
I agree with Doreen it is always a good idea to ask your client what floats his or her boat... Example, "Whale" songs are relaxing for some and "weal" songs work for others -- Amazingly, more often than not my clients prefer no music these days...
I've been using Feather on the Breath of God by Eric Jacobsen for years. It's subtle and has no crescendos to distract the client. It's available my www.serenity.com or from my website.
Dear Carol, I compose and sell royalty free music for hypnosis sessions, I have sold to many hypnotist in the Portland area as well as thru the NGH at this summers national convention. I have used my own music for hundreds of my hypnosis session with clients and feel that due to the way they are designed thay are very effective. please feel free to go to my web site and teat drive them, they are on the self help CD area. www.pdxhypnosis.com One thing to remember if your using commercail music and it records onto your clients CD of their session, you can run into copyright infractions, with royality free music there is no chance of legal problums. Good luck, Scott E. Duvall CHt. NLP
I use a CD called Mind Converter Theta-Level by Dick Sutphen during my sessions. I have found that most people enjoy it and go into the altered state quite quickly. Before I used this I often used what was considered "New Age" CD's. I don't particularly like using anything with water in it as I find it makes me want to use the toilet as well as a few times people I used it with said the same thing.
I use ocen soands or stream sounds coupled with mellow piano or guitar and a theta binaural beat. My cd's are an hour long, I have them at my website...
