I used to work with a woman who was a twin and they believed they had some sort of telepathy between them, who knows what's possible?

For a number of years I have taught an adult education class on self-hypnosis for weight loss. Once a pair of twins attended and several years later one of them came back for a refresher. She told me that her sister had dropped 50 lbs since the first class and never had put back on an ounce. She too had dropped a lot of weight initially but had backslid. Clear proof that genetics is not the sole factor in weight loss or gain!

I suspect that since you successfully helped to alter the belief system of the one twin into believing she should could be a non-smoker, the other twin experienced a kind of spotaneous entrainment when around her now smoke-free mirror image. Congratulations on a job well done!

Strange times, indeed! Just makes you wonder, if there was some sort of unconscious transference, of the new hypnobehavioral patterns, in the other twin!
