I think I once saw photos posted of the effect on the brain patterns when undergoing Hypnosis. My computer died and took those references with it.

Does anyone know the reference? I have a medical doctor asking for it.

Thanks,

That is a link to information about Neuro-imaging studies.
Hope that helps some
Thanks so much. I'll be researching to find info to share again. Have a wonderful day.
Beautiful. Thanks Richard.

I joined your online discussion last Tues., but had to run to a friend's house who was signed in. I could not get the video to appear on my screen. It was interesting and I plan to join you again as topics of interest arise. Thanks for sharing and caring!
personnaly, i think people are worrying too much about brainwaves and patterns etc etc...
can we not just be happy knowing that hypnosis works,
and not have to break everything down into pages of information?
Everyone processes and embraces new ideas from their own diverse background. The mind/body connection is clear.

I find their curiosity another area to explore and also enjoy debating from the other viewpoint (opposing mine) and enjoy reading some of the articles in Scientific American.

It's all interesting and fun to me...
I'll try to explain how I see it. Everyone has a diverse range of experiences, differing ways of learning and embracing new concepts. I do believe that trying to understand how the mind, brain & body interact so beautifully (and sometimes have a glitch) is a really exciting area of study. I don't think of it as breaking down pages of info, rather a wonderful exploration.

I enjoy questions that make me question, research and expand my perception of reality. I guess I have a bit of a different way of thinking about the question.
I have been following Brain Wave" research since the mid 1990s, when I worked as a Medical hypnotist in Dr. Eric Braverman's office. He is one of the pioneering researchers for using BRAIN MAPPING in a medical practice.

All of the brain wave images that I have seen are showing the brain waves that are generated as a subject follows suggestions and researchers find the same patterns in people who simply follow suggestions sans the "hypnotic state"

In my opinion that was the major idea being communicated in the Seed article that Richard shared with us on brain waves and hypnosis:

"Scientists still lack what would be the ultimate validation of this sort of research: a distinct neurological signature of hypnosis. It has been difficult to disentangle the effects of hypnotic suggestion from those of suggestion alone."

In my opinion scientists will never find a distinct neurological signature for hypnosis because hypnosis is not STATE dependent as widely believed...
