HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

Due to a few links on a few news sites over the weekend, our traffic has spiked quite dramatically.  We've had a few thousand more people than usual showing up each of the last few days, so to all of you who are new to this site:  Welcome.  I'd like to briefly explain what this site is and what (as well as who) it is for.

HypnoThoughts.com is a social network dedicated to hypnosis and hypnotherapy. It is a completely free resource for anyone who is interested in joining (like facebook and many other online communities).  Similar to facebook, myspace, etc. anyone can create their own profile page and browse the site, make comments, and interact with other members, free of charge.

The interaction on this site is geared mainly towards professionals and students interested in the study and application of hypnotherapy.  Professional hypnotherapists and students of hypnosis come to this site to get insight from mentors and peers, as well as continue their education and share thoughts and experiences.  This often includes sharing specific techniques, theories, or anecdotes, etc. to one another.  There is also a sense of community that extends beyond the professional conversation among colleagues that is quite casual and overwhelmingly respectful.

Of the approximately 7,500 members of the site, an overwhelming majority have completed some level of training or education in hypnosis, though that is not required to join.  Many visitors to this site have no training in the subject at all, and are simply interested in learning about what hypnosis actually is.

If you are here for the first time, feel free to check things out and browse the site.  If you would like to ask questions or make comments, you may of course do so.  We only ask that you keep the discussions respectful and to refrain from any advertising or promotion of any kind (even for things that are free).

This site is not a political forum, so conversations on that topic are probably best left to sites dedicated to those types of discussions.

Hope you enjoy the site,

Scott Sandland

Scott- fill us in, what news articles??

Erm...articles about an inactive member who joined HT a year ago, never participated on the site or interacted with anyone, and then this week did something amazingly stupid on national TV and got himself arrested for it. I'm guessing that someone in the media Googled his name and found his HT profile. So now it's somehow newsworthy that this dude is a member of a social network about hypnosis. (Gasp! There must be something nefarious about that!!!) I haven't seen any stories mention the fact that the guy hasn't done a thing on HT since he joined.

Yep, I used google and have the scoop now...

It is interesting that he has never participated in this forum.

Obviously a very stressful time for him.  Hopefully he has some skills in self-hypnosis, or can seek out a professional,  and can effectively manage his physical healing and the emotional stress.    Hearts out to all of those in Tuscon who are experiencing emotions none of us should have to face.

The real downside is before it was only hypnosists who knew I suck at typing.   Now it is the whole world.

I don't follow the news, (not even the local news).  I am guessing that there must be a desperate lack of information about the person, for somebody to rake through his profile here.  However, (for whatever reason), he has placed that profile in the public domain, so it is fair game for people to quote it, even thoughh it may be completly irrelevant to whatever he has done.

Richard...  Relax about your typing.  I have never had difficulty making sense out of what you right.

Love and hugs,

 Hi,

We have been and are likely to be visited by people who have been directed to ht.com because one of our member's profile may or may not offer insight to his opinions and motivations. There is nothing wrong with that.

A non-active member of our community was recently shot during the Safeway shootings... The story within the story is that he was recently arrested for making death threats at a town hall meeting... His behavior and arrest exposes the hypocrisy behind his actively using the major media to blame conservatives for inciting the Safeway Shootings.
