Hi everyone,

I have a client coming to see me with a fear of not being able to learn a substantial amount of lines for a play she is in.

It's quite a big play and she doesn't normally act for a living but is a tv personality.

She has had smaller parts but is daunted and panicking about this. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Warren

Yes, Brian David Phillips demonstrates a wonderful way to expand skills quickly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujNxNhFZKsY

Thanks for that Kelley. I particularly enjoyed his sound effects when counting ;)

Thanks AJ, for that prompt! I found this article which includes in the list of helpful suggestions a few points a hypnotist can address:

Use metaphor and imagery to "bridge" related facts

Teach a client to employ the hypnagogic state as they approach sleep to input information

Reduce stress and anxiety which might interfere with not only learning, but with recall (anchoring a desired state)

Stephen Brooks talks about using time distortion with an actor so that she could run through her lines hundreds of times in a few hours, giving her that confident feeling that she could deliver them with confidence.

Thanks everyone so much for your help and advice.

What a great community.
