anyone got any ides for assisting a client with MS

Hi all

I have a new client coming next week who has been suffering with MS for 10 years.

He is hoping that hypnosis will enable him to feel more motivated and less apathetic about his life. Also is hoping it may help with his continuous state of tiredness. He is in constant chronic pain because of his conditionand as such sitting in one position for any length of time causes him real discomfort - he sought out the help of a hypnotherapist before  - they used a PMR which was too difficult for him to imagine or follow because of his condition and he had to keep shifting in his seat and as such doesn't believe he went into hypnosis

I must say I feel slightly daunted - however I know I can help I'm just not quite sure where to start or what to do to get him into what would literally be a "comfortable" trance state.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Sam

Hi Sam,

You can help this man! Just facilitating a different state of being will feel wonderful to him...it doesn't matter if he is sitting, lying down, or standing on his head.

Once he understands how he can aid his body in relaxing, in letting go not only of the physical tensions and discomfort but the emotional ones, too, he will want to return often to this state of relief. I suggest using Michael's emotional detox technique to prepare him for trance and then perhaps a simple countdown as in the Dr. Flower's induction or maybe an autogenic process. Keep it simple and remind him that he is in control and is giving himself permission to enjoy himself...

Engage his imagination by letting him venture to times before his diagnosis, when he was young and flexible, etc...Anchor these feelings so he can draw upon them often. Then, have him imagine a time in the future when he is feeling better and let him explore how wonderful this feels!

This will be a good start for you to help him experience the benefits of hypnosis and build belief and rapport between the two of you.

Best wishes,

Kelley
Hi Michael thanks for pointing me in the direction of previous threads on this - much appreciated :-)

Also I like your thoughts Kelley - I just think I was feeling a bit daunted by the pain thing, but you are right I can really help this guy - I'm feeling more positive thanks

Sam :-)
First, I would make sure because of liability that if he was diagnosed from a doctor and being treated that you get a referal. Also the doctor may be able to educate you in MS so that you can be more effective. I have not worked with anyone with MS and only caution you to get that referal.

Let us know how you do as many ask for help but do not give the feedback to us what they did and how it came out.

Hi Samantha,

I'm in the middle of teaching a 16 day intensive so this one's gonna be super quick, but I have worked with a quite a few MS clients with anywhere from great to powerfully life changing results (especially for their physical pain) with the use of NLP, EFT and educating them/having them implement the power of Alkalizing their body via an alkalizing diet and supplements. (Do a google search and you'll find plenty of info about it)

Powerful results have been had for my clients and thousands of others...

Warmly,

Kevin

Thanks, Kevin, for this direction toward alkilization; there is a definite need to reduce sugar intake so I see the parallel.

Hi Sam, although this is not quite the answer you were looking for, there is something that has been showing very good results with MS that is safe and inexpensive. There can be mild side effects such as insomnia and it is not suited to those on opiates. One also needs to find a Dr who prescribes it as is called off license, lists of such Dr's are available and it is on license for 100 x the dose used it is called LDN. People say it has given them their life back. Their are many yahoo groups and Utube videos about it. If you would like help looking into this please do make contact I'm happy to assist.
