Benefits of a daily practice (A challenge with a prize!)

Hello all,

Following on from Richard's posting regarding Progressive Muscle Relaxation, I am inspired to set a challenge.

One of the recurring issues when something is useful, (and needed), is that people use a technique once or twice, and then lapse. a form of self sabotage?

A one off session of deep relaxation using progressive muscle relaxation is useful in itself, but does not usually sort out what is essentially a chronic problem of retained unneccesary tension (which is endemic in our society and can negatively affect every area of our functioning). If the technique is adopted as a daily practice for an extended period of time (much the same as a regular workout, or meditation practice), the benefits become more and more profound, after a few weeks, and then there is continued progressive improvement in all areas... with or without hypnosis.

When used with concomitant hypnosis/psychotherapy, the benefits of the generalised letting go of physical (and mental) tension can be emphasised, and built upon, clearing the way for more specific positive change suggestions to be more effective.

I wonder how many readers of this forum, and their clients commit themselves to this form of regular practice, and what excuses/rationalisations the others come up with for not sticking with this proven process.

So here is the challenge: I have put my half hour MP3 session of this deep relaxation technique on the audio player on my page.

Who is willing to use this once a day for a month, and report back here on their experience, and progress. (including what got in the way at times.)

There will be an (as yet unspecified) prize for all who take part.

Love and hugs,

Fable

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to add that practice helps, so is relaxation, I used to have lots of pain as a result of an injury, where some have it as a result of aging... I had a sciatic nerve that caused lots of pain, and this irritated my spinal sections from L5 to S1.
I have healed in four days, It was a long 8 hours of energy, meditation and hypnosis, (a total of 32 hours).

I believe the reason I was healed was simply because I decided that I didn't want it any more, where before all I was concern is, how My I going to do this and this and that, how M I going to work, how m I going to be affective, followed with fear, frustration, anger, stress, anxiety and on top fear of dying, and trust me, when you have so much pain and eventually this kind of pain take over your joy, and you become paralyzed, all you do is think negative, and this is what I decide to eliminate, a very big step of healing, in fact, a very huge step of healing, so what I am saying here? make a decision and add practice, since practice makes perfect.

All the best to all and the best of 2010.

Hypnosis For Pain Management - Relieve Sciatic Nerves
Back in 1999 I was involved in a car accident that it left me nearly paralyzed, my pain started with sore and muscle aches that gradually followed with sharp pains radiating all the way to my legs. My back pain wasn't just a pain; it was a battle of chronic pain where pain killer and other related drug were not eliminating my agonizing pain at all.
HI
I am so sorry I missed this opportunity. I love being part of this group but now I know I need to be more faithful about spending time here to get the most out of it...
If you are so inclined to share this again.. I will not miss the opportunity..I promise!

Thank you, Fable! As I was reading this thread from the start, I began to feel more and more regretful of having missed out on the "challenge"! I should have know you would not have revived it without also making your offer again! I look forward to the experience.

Thanks Kelley,

It is a long thread to read from the start to the end,
however, I thoroughly recommend that practice.
as, there is a wealth of good advice in the thread
coming from the practical experience
of those who took part in the challenge.

In fact if you come up with a question,
or problem with the practice,
you can bet your life that
the answer is already within this thread.

There is also within this thread lots of encouragement
from those who have walked the path,
and discovered the benefits

I look forward to hearing your feedback over the coming weeks.

And indeed,
will continue to issue the prizes
to those who take part,
and give feedback.

The prize is not conditional on how well you get on with the practice..
it is conditional on giving the feedback within this thread.

Love and hugs,

Fable

Ha Ha,

Join the club!

Fable me old darling...
Can you make the latest version available.

Hugs,

Joey
Ha Ha right back at you Joey!

Thanks for asking .

I must have missed Gary's request back in January.
Perhaps I was still in hibernation mode.

Anyway, for anyone who wants
it is once again available for free download
untill the 30th Nov at:

I do still ask that hypnothoughts members who download it commit to following the thirty day challenge, and giving feeback here on how it is going over the month.
The offer of a prize still stands on the basis of giving regular feedback.

I the meanwhile I am thinking about a fresh challenge for December! with new prizes.

Whoopee!

Love and hugs,

Fable
Fable,
I've been doing a different practice for about 3 months now--autogenic training.
Your challenge gave me the idea to pick up a practice that did not involve direct hypnosis.

Needless to say, I end up in a very nice "trance state" in about 10-15 minutes. I like this practice as it puts me in touch with my body. And my body is glowing when I finish.

The practice takes care of stress and pain for most of the day.

What gets in the way? Not taking the 10-15 minutes in the morning.

It's a simple practice to learn.

Enjoy, and thanks.

When I teach autogenic training, I tell people, "I can't explain this as well as you can expierience it, so if you do this for 30 days, I promise.... your life will be 100% different."

What is awesome is that in the year or more that this thread has existed, many people have found this to be true....
And thanks to you Richard, I learned about autogenic training from you!

And Fable, the big prize is how you feel after doing a daily practice for some time.
Dear Richard Nongard, I agree that if a person/ client / individual do as advised for 30 days, then their life will be 100%differentnt and I may even add, much better.

After all, I am a living prove of that :)

Yes Doreen, yu were one of the first to post to this thread!

For those not familiar with autogenic training, it is similar to PMR in some ways...

I often use autogenics as a formal hypnosis induction:
