Building a successful hypnosis business

I am planning to build my hypnosis business around peak performance, geared toward athletes and those wanting to achieve high results in any area of life.  I wanted to ask if anybody can tell me their experience and advice on:

1.       Specializing – is this a good way to go, or is it better to be a generalist?

2.       Building and marketing a business – what is the key to success? What is the average income level? How do you determine the right price?

I am just starting out – so I appreciate anything anybody can provide.

Thank you!

I once went and played a round of golf with my friend who has a handicap of 4. He's an amazing golfer who has taken lessons from some big time instructors. I asked him for some advice to help my game. He said, "never take free golf advice."

Everyone thinks they have the best golf secrets, but not every technique works for every person and every type of swing. Too much advice can overwhelm a golfer and confuse them, which is counter productive. My friend's advice was as great as it was humble. He didn't know if what works for him would work for me.

There are a lot of people who love giving advice who have never seen more than 10 people in a week. I've twice had hypnotists tell me that they weren't seeing enough clients to pay their bills so they held a seminar teaching other hypnotists how to create wealth, abundance, plenty of clients, etc. They charged people to learn something they couldn't teach.

There are plenty of very successful hypnotists out there, and some of them teach and explain how they did it, or still do it. Then there are the people who are all hype and can't walk the talk.

Make sure your advice comes from someone who actually has done it, not just learned about it from others. The difference is huge.

my two cents,
Scott
