Anyone have any clue? My 14 year old son has chronic mouth sores and problems related to what the dentist said was this. Referred him to a dental surgeon for steroid treatment. Seems like there is a better answer. Scott, in your dental work have you enountered this? Michael, you probably know as much as anyone...
Any ideas from anyone else are appreciated...

Richard

I found some natural treatments (herbal) in google.

"Treating immune dysfunction is also an important aspect of this disease. Medicines like Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Bhrungraj (Eclipta alba), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Bala (Sida cordifolia), Naagbala (Grewia hirsuta), Samudrashosh (Argyreia speciosa), Madhu-Malini-Vasant, Laghu-Malini-Vasant, Suvarna-Malini-Vasant and Suvarna-Parpati can be used for this purpose."

Also, you may want to see if colloidal silver can be of any help.

just my 2 cents

Hi Richard,

People reported being helped by using grape seed extract, St John's wort and putting a pinch of crystal vitC in aloe gel which they put on their gums and/or compresses or gargle using a drop of their own urine (Morning pee-mid-stream flow) in a tea spoon of purified water--

I would also consider adding hypnosis imagery -- that turns the heat down, cools the sore spots, etc.

Consider me a resource.

Hello Richard,

Sorry to hear of your son's discomfort. My son (now 16) began getting cancre sores in his mouth about the time of puberty onset. We used relaxation exercises for stress relief and suggestions for cooling/healing, as Michael mentions.

Don't know if you have seen this, but here are some plant-based products that might be worth looking into: http://bullouspemphigoid-options.com/ http://gustarex.com/background.html

Best wishes,

Hi Richard,

From my experienced, which I use to have it myself, I may be able to help you, since I have helped many others too.

First of all, you need to find out the cause: It can be from stress or dental related issues, which it is in the mouth or the gum's.

If it is from dental related:
This is something that can be related, look for sharp edge or broken tooth, can be from braces, bacteria, fungal or from a viral infection, it can also be symptoms of a disease or disorder, which in your son's cases, I don't think so, ( is he diabetic?)

Is the mouth sores white or gray based and reddish around his mouth? If yes, then they are very common and are not contagious, It is usually from fatigue, allergies, or stress.

If this is it, I really think your son will love using toothpaste called Verve, he will be happy with the results as I have been for a long time, In fact I am going to order me one, since with all my dental work, I kind of starting to feel like it is going to attack me.

Cold sores or fever blister or herpes simplex, they are caused by herpes virus type 1 which is very contagious and occur outside the mouth, so If stress triggers your 14 year old, have him practice relaxation techniques.

Make sure he does not use the same towels or even utensils. I would still replace his toothbrush as soon as he feels the tingling sensation at the outbreak of an cold sore attack, after the blister breaks and when the sore is gone make sure he remembers to wash his hands after touching the sores.

It is also a good idea to boost his immune system. The herbs echinacea and goldenseal is to boost his immune system are good.

Supplements that can help are:200 to 500 mg. of citrus bioflavonoids three times a day. This remedy will greatly reduce the duration of his cold sores.

Apply Vitamin E for pain relief.

Have him eat plain Yogurt , since I have added yogurt to my daily diet, I am no longer getting any more cold sores, Yogurt stimulates the immune system.

Zinc is also good to reduce the duration of cold sores, he can use the tablets, make sure he does not take more than 15 mg for more than a week or so without medical supervision. For the first week, he can take up to 60 mg a day.

Hope that helps, and If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Respectfully Doreen Cohanim C.Ht
PS: I am not a medical doctor, just telling you what helped me and my clients.

Hello Graeme, I gather this was a hypnosis future progression workshop. If I may add that as a Life Coach we, too, do use "future self" exercises in guided imagery. It seems to work quite well and is also a handy tool. Warmly, Gail
