My husband has just been diagnosed with high cholesterol levels - has anybody ever worked with lowering 'cholesterol' levels? I would be interested to discuss other cases. What limited information I have is this: the body is responsible for making cholesterol and very little is absorbed from our diets (yet he has been given a 'diet' to follow). Obviously I am keen to help him in anyway possible therefore would be grateful to hear from anyone who has had any success in this area or has any helpful comments. Regards, Victoria

Hi, thanks for your reply. I agree, the body does not make mistakes! The information you provided will certainly make it into a script :) - thank you.

the body does not make a mistake. it reacts to different factors that we introduce into the body.

good amount of water intake could lessen fat/cholesterol accumulation in the body...if we do not take the right amount of water and the body is always "starved" of water, it tends to collect more fat, for us not to easily loose water.

carbohydrates specially simple sugars could increase the blood glucose level.
increase in blood glucose level...could increase insulin level...increase in insulin level increase the amount of "bad"cholesterol that are present in the blood.

adequate protein intake could help in lowering the glucose level by increasing the production of glucagon..glucagon lowers blood sugar level...and accumulation of "bad" cholesterol is decreased.

good balance for fat...... taking in the raw materials for "bad" cholesterol and "good" cholesterol
.
good cholesterol... are from naturally pressed oils e.g. olive oil (best) also almond hazelnut safflower and walnut.
bad cholesterols...from egg yolk & red meat.

take omega 3...EPA...slows down the production of bad cholesterol.

good sleep
vitamins and minerals
meditation a healthy body and mind produces a well balanced secretion of hormones.

this is not about hypnosis. i hope this could help in the scripts.
Don't forget to increase intake of fiber.

Victoria, in addition to following a healthy eating plan as has been suggested already, it is my understanding that unhealthy stress levels can elevate cholesterol production as well. So he might benefit from learning how to do a brief self-hypnosis exercise throughout the day to keep his tension levels down. Jim
Hi Ed,

Our bodies and minds can and often do make mistakes when we are under intentse, or prolonged dis-stress!

Perhaps, you have heard of autoimmune diseases, PTSD, IBS, CFS, and FMS?

And your recipe for lowering cholesterol might be taken for practicing medicine without a license-- Unless you are a medical doctor you don't want to get in the habit of giving people treatment advice...

Thank you to all those who replied to my post - your suggestions, recommendations and advice are very much appreciated :)
Here is a section out of that article that I found most interesting...

"Long before the medical establishment acknowledged that something as simple as diet might be causing serious illnesses, Pritikin had created a scientifically sound program using food and exercise as medicine. This revolutionary departure from the flawed theories of the 1950s caused him to become a public enemy of the medical establishment. Nathan Pritikin’s healthy diet program did more than reverse heart disease. Patients who came to his clinic often saw their type 2 diabetes, arthritis, and hypertension disappear." 29,30 - http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2009/feb2009_The-Cholesterol-Controv...

mmmmm... most interesting.

Thanks for providing the link Michael. As usual, you find the good stuff!
