Many of the magic tricks base on building
an elusions by distract the mind to one side and do the effect when the mind distracted Also its work by giving the belief that the elusion is reality the purpose is to do tricks, but the suggestions are build in the magic so even its not really hypnosis they do use the power of suggestions

Hello leshem yosef,

The suggestions that are built into the magic, as you mentioned, are using the same functions of the mind that many, including Milton Erickson used. For example the mind likes to fill in the gaps, that is why nested loops work so well. A lot of our work is based on the fact that the unconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between imagination and reality.

Imagine, if you want, that you are the best at what you do, well first imagine that you are not if you already are, then imagine if you want, that you are the best at what you do…….no, really, go ahead……..if you really did….and were to hold on to that thought so that was the only thought about the excellence of what you do, not only would you not know you are not the best, if that were the case, there is a good chance you would become what your mind thinks you are, if you are holding on to that thought.

A way to think of how hypnosis works, is that it utilizes the power of suggestion.

It may not always be considered by some, 100% hypnosis when it is applied unconventionally, but anything related to trance work and change can also be considered some form of hypnosis, would that be fair to say?

Magic tricks include but are not limited to, generalization, distortion, deletions, perception, imagination, etc…..
These are also the main functions or tools that are used in

Enjoy,
Steve

Rick, some magicians use stooges or plants, however, most do not. Note the difference between a David Copperfield illusion and a Criss Angel one . . . Copperfield, while fooling us, tends to not cutaway with the camera. Criss uses all sorts of edits and cuts and now employs out and out stooges in the crowd. As Richard Nongard suggested, Criss is primarily an entertainer . . . one who uses magical illusion as well as cinematic illusion. If it violates the laws of physics then one can probably safely assume that it's a trick of editing or gadgetry rather than a trick of the mind. :-)

All the best,
Brian

I don't have the bandwidth for UTube or video clips but I figure those acts I have seen on TV are full of audience participation/conspiracy.

One I saw was where Chriss levitated about 20-40 ft in the air and flew over a golf course including several trees. Another time he floated down from the top floor in the giant Luxor atrium. I would have loved to been there with my green LASER pointer pen. The beam would look like an explosion on the finest of wire.

Shades of Star Wars. voooooommmm voooommmm sssssrrrrraaaaaakkk pfttttt spff ps ps...

Rick C. Bentized but not by Chriss on TV
Dang the video has gone Richard guess I'll never see Criss Angel levitating people in their homes, why was it so funny do you remember, do you have a copy? My life cant go on until I see it! LOL

I think it was more like a mass hypnosis gimmick...
On that blog the funniest one is the bottom video. HAHAHHAHAHA
Remember, Criss Angel is neither a hypnotist nor a magician. He is a TV creation and entertainer....
Aww c'mon you are a spoil sport you know it's all real, nothing is faked on TV, and even although I dropped mine into the trash before they invented remote controls, I feel sure I was right.

Chris Angel's levitation is known by so many people.
He actually posted a video of him showing how on youtube.

He basically cuts his pants in front and walks out and pretends as if his leg is still there.. Lemme see if I can find it:
