the Free Hypnosis Social Network
Hi all,
It's been some time, since I posted anything on the board, so here's a small update:
I've been quite busy with my consultancy, and my second part-time job as a salesman.
(The latter because I wanted to get into a more commercial attitude, and I'm to much of a cheapskate, to pay for a study)
During the hours I've spent with hypnotherapy-clients, I had a client, who had been suffering from agoraphobia, and hadn't left the house in 11years.
When I came there, the client told me that he had been to psycho.the.rapists (pun intended), psychologists, paragnostic healers, and some therapists, whose brand I never heard of.
So I thought:"Great, I can't really do more damage, then all of those 'rapists put together."
"So this'll be a breeze."
I used the away-from/towards-motivation the first time we met, during the hypno-session.
And took him for a walk with his dog, while I walked beside him (We took the long route, when he caught sight of his house the first time, so he could learn to adjust at any given time, while plans were asumed different.)
The second time, I augmented that new motivation, and afterwards, I let him walk the dog, while I walked in the opposite direction, meeting him in the "middle" (offcourse I never walked farther then the end of his street, and waited till he arived, to keep him on his feet, and letting him feel the victory of "doing it himself").
The 3rd time, I came to his house, and told him to get his jacket, and drive alone in his car, followed by me, to a good bar, where we could have a drink, while being out of his comfort zone, and did some covert-ericksonian work on him, while just having a seemingly casual conversation.
We said goodbye, as I was sure that he was on the right track.
Today I received a phone-call, that I feared........
This client is completely over his agoraphobia, and his patronage is done for.....(lol)
He's been driving his son to school, working as a contractor again, and enjoying the outdoor-experience.
Another success-story to add to my memoires.
The state best suited for succesfull changework:

Permalink Reply by Alfredo Velasquez CHt. on April 14, 2011 at 6:02am I am still baffled by the awesome speed and efficiency, with which a trance-induced state can get a person to view life in a "new" perspective.
I've been doing this for 3 years now, and it intrigues me more and more.
Thank you all, for your input, and wisdom shared on this forum!
Without it, I would have never gained the level of professionalism that now forms the core of my consultancy.

I can assure you that you will be in that client's heart and mind for the rest of his life -- You gave him the freedom to get back into life--
Thanks for sharing-
