Permalink Reply by Scott Sandland on July 13, 2011 at 12:58pm You can use ACT, google, Outlook, or a few other things to manage client contact info. for session notes, it depends on how you take notes.
I'm using an ipad and a stylus to take all my session notes, so I use software like Note Taker HD or Notes Plus (both are less than 7 dollars). I don't recommend pen ultimate, I tried it and it looks cool but doesn't function as well as the other two.

I may try Note Taker HD and or Notes Plus if they are only $7.

How about for mac users. What is recommended?
Now, Hugh. Play nice. I'm a die hard Mac user--have 3 of them. I will look into Note Taker next time I'm at the Apple store.
John, is Flamingo PC or Mac based? I just can't go back to the dark ages of windows PC's. "-) Scott knows I can't use my Mac but I couldn't use a PC either. At least with my Mac I can go to the Apple store and someone will show me how to do what I want. That doesn't mean I will be able to do it on my own when I get home. But, I couldn't do that with a PC either. That's why whatever software I get has to be EASY.

Melissa, have you looked into file maker 11 for mac? Have a copy if you need.

Permalink Reply by Hugh Cole on July 14, 2011 at 6:08am Square up is a great service and you can carry it with you on trips so you can collect payments anywhere. Chase also has a program where you can photograph a check with your phone and direct deposit it.

Roger,
I use square for my client payments via credit card, and that can be easily tracked and automatically sends a reciept. I just use excel to track payments buy check or make invoices. Nobody ever pays cash (wink wink) so I don't record them.
