Wishing Scott, Richard and all of the students at the Hypnosis Practitioner Training Institute a fantastic week of learning, inspiration and friendship! Today kicks off the live training in California...
Readers, if you have one piece of advice for the attendees regarding getting the most out of their experience, what would it be?
Kelly,
Thank you so much for the support and inspiration you provide to all of us by sending your well wishes and thoughts our way.
This is an exceptional group of people we have here and today was unlike any training or college course I have ever attended. The good will and team spirit demonstrated by all of the students was amazing. Scott delivered exactly as was expected (by that I mean he was incredibly briliant and entertaining) and we finally had to kick everyone out of the classroom at around 8:30 this evening.
For all the suggestions you friends here on HT have given, with the exception of Bill's (sorry), the students seemed to have heard them as you typed them. Everyone asked very intellegent questions, took pages and pages of notes, participated fully, and looked like they were having way too much fun.
Day 2 tomorrow!

My excitement over rode my filters, but no I wasn't intending that outcome consciously. If it makes you feel any better, I had a really rough time practicing inductions last night but I learned a lot from that and was still able to have fun. One of the things in yesterdays lecture was about sometimes you have to back up a step and around from a different angle or approach. Today is a different day and I'm looking forward to see which approach will have magic for me, even if I have to use a magnifying glass to see the tiniest bit of improvement, that'll will work for me. I know you're happy for us all, thanks.
Steve

Wait a second. Hold on! There's some serious training going on there. It needs to be absorbed in the appropriate frame of mind. Therefore, my advice is:
1. Try not to smile and enjoy the new insights you're learning.
2. Really attempt to maintain a professional demeanor at all times, so that you don't accidentally develop any rapport building skills or self-confidence.
3. Endeavor not to form professional relationships with similarly minded people from across the country also interested in helping people be their very best.
4. Whatever you do, don't apply any of the lessons learned to your own situation or gain any new perspectives about yourself.
I think that covers it.
Permalink Reply by Bill Kennedy on January 23, 2012 at 8:29am Jackie, stop smiling! That little thing you do ---> :) <--- is ruining everything! People will see it and think that what we're doing is fun. They will want to learn how to do it themselves. Hypnosis will be everywhere!
Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, stop being such an enthusiastic role model!

After most five day trainings there's a "now-what" feeling. Inside the HPTI structure it's easy to absorb all the wisdom without worrying, without projecting the possible future without daydreaming because you know it's just the begining.

Our first week of intensive training just ended but this is only the beginning. The learnings from the past few days and the rest of this year will greatly impact the future of our career and if everything goes well the future of our industry. I spent my 5 hour flight back to Florida, reliving my notes and creating better connections to the things that I originally wrote in short hand. Or short type...
FFW to Florida 5 hours later.
Landed at 4pm had a session with a dentist at 5:30, and after putting together all the pieces I have a very happy dentist client who has now decided that his client could really use hypnosis for common dental issues. Hopefully that means all of his patients... Haha.
During our training, I overtly "picked" Scott's brain about my approach with this particular client and I got nothing but straight, honest, useable advice that has already proven helpful... this is day 1...
I couldn't be any more grateful.
Thank you Scott and Richard... and Richard... and the rest of talented hypnotists, both teachers and classmates who have already made this an unforgettable experience.

I am so happy with you and for you.
I enjoyed working with you last week and sharing a week of one of the most awesome learning experiences one can have in a 5 day period.
You have a great future today.
Your new friend and classmate,
Steve
