First i would like to say that i love this site... I am self taught very beginner street hypnotist and there is so much information on here!!! i feel like a towel soaking up new info!!

ok so here it is.

on 11/31/08 i hypnotized a promoter up in long island NY and had a lot of fun... I currently have a video up on it (shamless promo i know) anyway i bring that video up because if you notice at :51 seconds of that video there is a blonde woman. I hypnotized her earlier in that night with a rapid induction. I used a handshake interrupt and she went out like a light. while i was deepening i noticed that every time i brought her up and out she seemed a bit uncomfortable... As i noticed this i decided that i did not want to continue with doing a show because of the signs that she was showing. I then pulled her all the way out (for lack of a better term) She came out of the trance a little confused. She then began rubbing her arms and seemed like she was cold. I then re asured her that everything was ok... she began to cry and was still quite confused. I recognised these signes from somthing that i read and reindused her very quickly... i began a quick relaxation script and talked her back up and out. She then felt much better but was still a little bit out of it. After just a few mins she was completely fine and explaining why she was crying. She said it was because she felt like she totaly lost control and couldnt help it...

is this common and if so does anyone have any suggestions?

In my experience this isn't something that is common, but it is something you should be prepared for. If I were in your position I would do things to prevent this from happening as often as possible (which is why you are writing here).

Questions for you to think about (and not necessarily answer here)

First, take a look at your pre-talk. Did she know what to expect and understand that she was in control?

Does she have a history of any trauma that could lead her to feel unsafe or out of control?

Could you have slipped on a word or said something that set her off, even if it hasn't bothered other people?

What changes would you make if you were working with her tomorrow?

I have some experience in street hypnosis, but it's been years since I've done any so I will let people with more recent experience answer your questions more directly. I'm glad you are enjoying the site. Thanks for posting the videos and we look forward to more contributions.

hope this helps,

Dear Scott,

Thanx so much for the response!!

Well actualy here is what i did after the fact...

I did look at my pretalk... yes i always let them know that they are in control, however, my "pretalk" is not "conventional" (for lack of a better term) ... i actualy just include it very briefly into a light conversation that i have with the person before i begin an induction. It is all very standard, just basicly saying that nothing will be done that will go into the persons history, and that everything will be fun and respectful... (thats the very short version)
I dont know much history on this specific person because i dont normaly ask very personal questions (my shows never "go to that level") so i am wondering if that maybe when the induction happened it could have been because of a past experiance of a loss of control???
I dont think i slipped on anything, I use several different rapid inductions however, i have very very very similar scripts that i made up that work well for me... all of which are pretty surface level...

I guess if i were to go into the same situation again i am not really sure what i would change... I am still a bit puzzled as to why it actualy happened..
since you brought it up i think it may have been a previous loss of control issue or somthing... because she did talk about the fact that she had chills from feeling like she was aware of everything around her however, could not do anything about it.
Alcohol? Drugs (prescription or otherwise) ? Always could be a factor...
I agree. I didnt even think of that. She had been drinking that night. She was not intoxicated however she deffinalty had a few.!
feeloing cold , even shivering and having goosebumps is a symptom of fear.

Dear Glen,

Thank you much for your thoughts.
Do you have any insite on what could generate this fear??

Again i dont expect you to know everything about the subject since the only thing that you could know is what i wrote... however, this was the first time that i had met her and have very little backround.

She was also a very willing participant.
