I have just been reading another discussion in which one therapist mentioned that she does suggestibility and convincers because she feels that clients might have more of a reason to NOT go into hypnosis than to go into it.....this of course can be true....
My thinking is this: I expect my client to have a very deep, amazing experience where they are going to have change in their lives after even their first session with me.
Now, i know that i have only been doing this for a few months but this is the EXACT result my clients get. I do explain in the pre talk/relationship building time what hypnosis is and what it isn't and i also now have my own natural flowing induction where i put a lot of that also... i have added also that they will come back up out of hypnosis easily and effortlessly, after a few of my clients have gone so deep lately!
My question is this: Do we get what WE expect with our clients? If a hypnotherapist BELIEVES that their clients might have a part of them that will resist hypnosis for whatever reason, is that the exact result they get????
I'm finding I'm getting more of what i'm expecting more of the time and the client that is not what i'm expecting less of the time!
Have many of you found this?
Very interested in your thinking on this one....
