Do you think it's possible for a hypnotist to see 40-50 clients a week?

I recently did an interview with Clinical Hypnotherapist Sheila Granger, from the UK that claimed she is so busy that she's seeing up to 50 clients a week.

There was some response in the comments section of my website where fellow hypnotists (or people claiming to be) claimed that it was silly to think you could possibly do that many clients in a week.  One comment writer said they feel spent after doing 15 clients in a week.

What do you think.  Is it possible to see 50 clients a week in your practice?

Is she doing group sessions? If you count the people in the groups individually, I see more than that some weeks.

If not, then it all depends on how long her sessions are. If she is doing 30 minute sessions it's possible. Seeing a lot of clients in a single week is also different than a consistent stream of clientele who are getting great results. You said "up to" 50 a week. what is the low number in that range?

Does she have a staff that takes care of everything else, or does she do everything on her own? Lot's of questions and x-factors can go into that.

I wouldn't want to see 50 clients a week individually. I don't like going above 30, and ideally I like to be around 20-25. Then again, I would see more if I wasn't working on this site, the HypnoSummit, etc.

Speaking of which, if these kinds of client numbers intrigue you, I'd recommend you check out the next HypnoSummit on September 25th and see our dozen 2 hour long practice building workshops.

my two cents,
Scott
It might be possible.

That doesn't mean it's healthy.
I have 27 individual patient appointments booked into 4 clinic venues in a week (5 days: 6 appointments for 4 days, 3 in an afternoon, and Friday morning for admin). Each appointment is about an hour, and I am pleasantly tired after my work on most occasions. On some days, I am exhausted. The times I go over appointment time due to an issue that arises can add up to a heavy day!

I don't think I'd be providing a good service to see 50 people individually in one week in my role, but maybe other people can provide a good service to lots of clients per week.
Oh, and P.S. is this person seeing 50 clients every week, or is it boom and bust with them?

I see 27 patients almost every week, and I find this number sustainable. I wouldn't like to do many more than this, and my admin requirements wouldn't be possible.
Like Scott said, I would also like to know some more details on that. Is this done in groups? is she speaking about her facility that has multiple hypnotists? 8 a day for 6 days is 48, that is one an hour for 8 hours.

I do 1/2 hr sessions so I could conceivably hit that number, but it's being awful busy.

Hi Marc,

The maximum clients I have seen in a week was 34 which included 2 motivation training sessions with 10 clients each and 14 individual clients over 6 days. I was knackered and never tried it again.

I highly doubt she could see 50 clients a week for one hour sessions (especially weight loss) as not only would she be tired but not giving her best to the client. Some people are are very good at marketing though!

Another thought. When does she write up her notes, take a break, prepare for the next client etc. This type of weight loss therapy is time consuming and requires intense sessions with clients. Just my opinion!
Perhaps she's an "uber-achiever" and works 24-7. If I were to see clients 7 days a week, from dawn til dusk, ignore meals and bathroom breaks, that number of 50 could be achieved. But why? Eventually, the toll would be due because I'm no machine. I'm a human being!
@ Kelly,
"I'm a human being!"

And a damn good one at that and that's more than enough for me -Kelley

Hmmmm.... Yes, I could easily see 100 clients a week and here's how:
I'd bring in trusted associates. I can hear our receptionist now: "Hello - Ellner, Barsky, Cleary and Blum - How may I direct your call?"

Work, work, work. - Work, work, work.- Work, work, work. - Work, work, work...

This is an indirect suggestion for a limiting belief. Why?
I would make it work if that many ppl would be calling me a week. Alot of things can be done in under an hour, but that also depends on their specific situations. I've had people that all it took was 5-10 minutes and they never needed to come back, also people like their time and in a few cases as this one they gave me a big tip on top of the charge for he session for doing such good work in a much shorter amount of time than they ever suspected.
