This one may seem a bit trivial, but I don't get the chance to talk to many other hypnotists on a daily basis so what the hey!

What's your favourite induction?

It occurred to me today that I don't really have one, although I think I probably should have!! Thus I'm curious as to whether others do.

Now I don't necessarily mean the one you use the most, and I don't necessarily mean the one that brings the best results. I just mean your favourite. The one that for some reason you just enjoy doing more than others.

None of this "well really there is only ONE induction..." or "well it all depends where I am and who it is..." stuff. I just want to know your favourite.

Perfect place, perfect subject, what's it gonna be?

;)

Jan, did you also view this video? Is it certainly the one Graham is thinking of? And do you also agree with Graham's POV? I am now perplexed?

Perhaps I need a direct link. Which video are you specifically viewing?

Probably the only one on that page. Direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SElBuUVPl-Y
I hadn't watched any video until now. It is indeed a demonstration of "My Friend John" but it also includes a bunch of other things, so it's not really a very clear demonstration. Graham already conceded that a better video example would be great, but I don't know one (though I haven't really looked).

My Friend John, to my knowledge, implies nothing about what deepeners or convincers or whatever you use. It is my impression that you claimed that it did, and it is also my impression that that's what confused Graham.

If anyone else needs some additional confusion, just let me know. I'll be happy to help you out.
Thanks for editing my poor communication, Jan. It's amazing how well confusion techniques do the job. So be sure to add that one on the list, Tim. And Graham, if there is no better demo of "My Friend John" then perhaps someone will make one.
Cheers for that one Graham. Hadn't seen it before. As you say, very nice!

Barry Thain's Wrist-lift is very nice.

Ok, I've had a think and I've actually got 3 favourites!

1. Jon Chase's arm lock (nearly always use this once I am satisfied the hypnotee can do basic phenomena)
2. James Tripp's hand stick (will often do this at the end of a session for fun to leave people smiling)
3. Reg Blackwood's version of Elman's three handshake induction (just cos it looks cool!)

All rapids...which kind of surprises me.

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far.

Any more for any more?

:)
One of my favorites is what, on that great link Graham Old provided, is called The Fake Induction.

On a side note I was a bit resigned that I had to miss the NGH convention this year, but now that I read Sean's post about the event of weaponry and possible pistol-whipping that occurred I feel much better about not being there. Did someone confuse the NGH with the NRA again?

Hi Tim!
Without a doubt, my favorite induction is the Dave Elman Induction. If someone held a gun to my head and said, "Hypnotize this person or else...." I would do Dave Elman's "three minute routine." Fortunately, it is rare that someone holds a gun to my head... okay... never. But then there was that incident last month at the NGH Convention....
