I am my best client on this, therefore I share things that have and are working for me.
Here is a short list to work on.
1. Reduce her stress level through hypnosis and, if needed use insomnia scripts.
2. One thing a lot of people with fibro have trouble with is 'pacing' themselves. When they feel good they tend to over-do things. Therefore, pacing activities throughout the day is important.
3. Staying active. Old activities may no longer work and actually add to the pain. Have her try new ones like walking, swimming, qi gong etc. Starting out slowly for short periods etc.
4. Teach her self-hypnosis - a simple progressive relaxation can do wonders.
I am not sure if your client experiences fibro fog. If she does, help her with concentration as well.
Hope this helps.
Margit
Thank you so much...would you have a script for insomnia you can share?

Gus, as a result of healing myself of both debilitating fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome using hypnosis in 1995, I went to school and got certified as a hypnotherapist. After certification, I launched a controlled 2 yr research project on using hypnosis for the relief of Fibro symptoms. I have seen well over 1000 fibro clients and have a fibro training course that you can do at home. The therapy consists of 10-12 sessions. But, since 1996, over 80% of clients using my fibro hypnotherapy program have become symptom free and remained that way after the sessions end. It is more involved than stress reduction and improved sleep. I have been symptom free since 1996 and take no meds or supplements for fibro.
Think of it this way. When you are a newborn, your unconscious mind trains or programs your autonomic nervous system (the parts of you that functions automatically, like breathing or your heart rate, etc.) Then, one day while you are cruising the Road of Life, you hit a pot hole and it knocks your car wheels out of alighment. It's the same way with your autonomic nervous system. For it, the pot hole could be mental, physical, emotional, spiritual or any combination of the above. It could be a big pot hole or a little one you happened to hit just right. You take your car to a mechanic to have the wheels realigned. And, you can take your mind/body to a specially trained hypnotherapist who can then "re-train" the muscles, nerves and biochemistry of your body to function normally again. When you do, the symptoms go away and do not return.
