the Free Hypnosis Social Network
Hi everyone:
I am looking at graduate programs in counseling that include hypnosis/body-mind/somatic therapy and wondering if others have any advice or experiences to help me.
I have had my hypnotherapy practice for 3+ years and would like a more structured opportunity to study, research, contribute writing about the field, and expand therapeutic practices with supervision. I am a great hypnotherapist and want to always include that work in any counseling practice I eventually have, but also want to get licensed and add to the literature.
Can anyone share experiences they have had or would recommend. I am open to both Masters or PhD/PsyD possibilities. I would appreciate learning about programs, schools, leadership in the field? I live in the northeast and am looking at low-residency programs or perhaps something I might move for for a few years.
Thanks for any ideas friends,
Samuel Lurie, MEd, CHT

Samuel,
Unfortunately, I have not found many accredited programs at either the masters or doctorate level in the USA.
http://www.beeleaf.com/ is in the UK, which may allow for license transfer once complete may be an option, however, classes will need to be taken there.

From my research, I have only found a few that are related
Institute of Transpersonal Psychology offers both a Masters and PhD program
Meridian University has PhD programs in concentrations in transpersonal and somatic psychology

Also Kona was mentioned above. Their masters program is accredited now, but their other offerings are not.
Best of luck,
Roz
