Hi all, I am just starting out and am finding it difficult at present to find a suitable 'office' to work out of, working from home is not an option and I wondered if anyone can me some feedback/ideas on home visits? I imagine that it could be a nightmare but on the positive side, a lot of clients may prefer it for many reasons. Any advice would be most welcome.

Hi Steve,

I have done home visits, and will do from time to time and I never had problem with anything, but I do have them sign the an agreement to protect me and I have liability Insurance to protect me, but I always like my place at the doctor office or my office.
Also, I only go to clients home if the doctor asks me to go due to their limitations.

So even If it says I do a home visit, I don't go there without a doctor referral's, plus to make sure the doctor knows then.

On a couple occassions I have done home visits. At first I had no problem with the concept. After doing a number of them I found as many pointed out a lack of control of your enviroment. Examples are once I explained on the phone to my client that they needed a comfortable chair for us to work and a quiet place. I even explained that if they have animals that they are out of the way. I show up and in the middle of her trance her dog jumps up on her lap. I suggested to her to stay in trance and when I count to three she would open her eyes and take care of the dog which she did and sat back down and continued her trance. After some time I found that it is a pain more often than not. I try to do them exclusively from my home office.

Steve,

By all means, start out in whatever way you can. As you stated, just getting your name out as you go to people's homes is a start. I have an office, but if a certain situation came up, I would consider going to their home. From these posts you at least have an idea of other hypnotist's experience and you know what to watch out for.

Best of luck to you!
Shirley
Thanks again for the feedback, vey interesting and food for thought
I find that the office is so professional then going to the home. I have done a home visit once due to homebound clients. Home office has many distractions and is not as effective because you have no control over the situation.

Just my thoughts..hope this helps!
