Hi All:

I was curious to hear everyones opinion on this topic. I am a Hypnotherapist in San Diego and also have a Degree in Marketing. I understand Marketing and have done a good job so far with my own practice though I know there is a lot of work to be done. I notice a lot of Hypnotists sell products and training and I have not gotten up to that point yet and am having difficulty grasping the next step. I am curious to know what some of you have done in order to help grow your practice? more so in what order. After setting up shop and seeing people what is the next step. Would you recommend creating an online store with self Hypnosis Cds, Giving talks to the public, Doing shows, Writing an Ebook, Etc etc. I would just like to hear some opinions in that it can definitely help.
I look forward to hearing everyones response!

Thank you,

Geoffrey E. Goodman

I started building my practice by teaching self hypnosis classes. Clients would come to class and students would become clients. People love to take classes. And when I advertised the class some people would call and ask if I also saw private clients. I didn't start teaching b/c I was comfortable in front of a group. I used self hypnosis to overcome my fears and did it anyway. After 21 years I'm still teaching self hypnosis and people are still enrolling.

This is a popular discussion. Look for more about it in Zoilita Grant's "How to Build a Private Practice"

Hello Geoffrey ~

I live in No. California, Marin County. Last year I hired a business coach, Robert Harrison, CCHPT, MNLP, etc...
www.bayhypnosis.com It seems to me now that people are using different website designs (wordpress), putting on videos, selling products, podcasts, Facebook, Twitter, all social networking, interviews, commercials on TV to name a few. I know Robert is so busy, 16 hours a day. He also has discounts if you call before a certain time.

After all said and done I am opting not to go this route. I miss the intimacy. I am going to have "by referral only". I work full time in the Health/Fitness field, but will be opening my own business, The Blended Spa in the summer. Part of what I do is Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching, Massage and Reiki.

If you like this way of marketing and getting clients as Robert has you will be successful.
