How to file a business complaint (for a uk based business)? for fable and anyone else

So I'm trying to help a member on here to get her website working. This person switched hosting companies from http://www.dpbuk.co.uk/ to www.bluehost.com The only problem is that the nameservers are still setup with http://www.dpbuk.co.uk/. This person has contacted the company to have them switch the nameservers to the bluehost nameservers (called them, emailed them, etc) and they are not getting back with her. Since its a uk based business, what can be done?

Most web companies are based in metropolitan areas and most metropolitan areas have Better Business Bureaus or similar organizations. If you know the location of this company, perhaps you could get some assistance from one or more of those organizations. Legitimate companies do not want to get on the bad side of these types of organizations.

Also, since the web-site is registered as a "dot com", there is such a thing as the "Dot Com Registery" in the USA (where most businesses with that "com" ending are located). It might take a bit of leg-work to get to the appropriate part of it, but they may be able to make a bit of a squeeze on your behalf to get these people to cooperate. Seems to me that overseas companies that won't cooperate in the world-wide nature of the web should/could be given some sort of sanctions.

Third and final suggestion is that perhaps considering a slightly altered name change, registering it (generally under $15.00 for a year) and put that up on Bluehost - in the end it may be the faster solution, so it depends on whether or not you are just so in love with the name that it cannot be changed, or whether getting the web-site up and making money is more important. Because you are the one with the very similar name to what you might change to (add a hyphen between words perhaps), there wouldn't be anyone else out there having a tizzy because of a near likeness of business names.

Contact Nominent.

They should ensure that the email address they are using is still live, but if they're getting no response Nominet can do it for her. There is a small fee, but I can't remember what it is.

Hi Debbie: Unless the issues are related, or can somehow be linked without causing confusion, I think working on more than two issues at a time is risking that you might not address any of them adequately. At the least, use different sessions/days…

I had one several years back that seemed very legitimate...a quantity order from Indonesia. While I will not go into details, the bottom line is that I was cheated out of over $1000 of products for which I never received one dime. Roy Hunter

Here are my thoughts: In the U.S., a referral would certainly be the way to go, IF the client was being seen by a medical doctor for the problem. If not, you could certainly SUGGEST the client go and then get the referral, but after all, the client…
