the Free Hypnosis Social Network
Hi, if there is anybody else out there who is working as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist as well as a Hypnotherapist/Hypnopsychotherapist, I would be pleased to know you.
I am not sure if the US has a different system to the UK, but I am sure we could exchange ideas and so on.
At the moment I have found that clients quite often come to me for one therapy and then have the other one after a session or two which is a personalised tailor made service and works well. It would be useful to exchange ideas though sometimes
Looking forward to meeting you
best wishes
Sue

I have a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy and I am a Certified Counselor and Registered Hypnotherapist here in the State of Washington. Most of my sessions are combinations of traditional talk therapy and hypnotherapy. I am using hypnosis more and more frequently in couples sessions as well.

Permalink Reply by Roger Moore on August 16, 2010 at 10:12am I suppose I am really putting forward the thought that a Hypno Counsellor may be able to build up trust to a deeper level, therefore being more successful than a Hypnotherapist who may meet the client, take the info and prepare a session.
i have found that it seems to make a difference and wondered if you have noticed this in your practice.
best wishes

Permalink Reply by Sue Wyncoll on August 16, 2010 at 10:26am Sue, I don't think so. I have seen some very credentialed counselors who were terrible with trust and rapport with their clients. (I have also observed some pretty bad hypnotherapists who were terrible with trust/rapport) I think it is about the integrity of the therapist and about being client-centered.
