You can easily modify my How To Snap Out of A Bad Mood thingee into HOW TO HELP YOUR STUDENTS SNAP INTO AN IDEAL LEARNING STATE-technique

 

Learning, memory and taking exams are state dependent - I am going to teach you a fun exercise that you can teach to your students that will help them study, remember and do well on tests...  Blah, blah, blah...

The NLP Spelling Strategy is hands down one of my favorites when it comes to educating teachers of the power of NLP & hypnosis. It's simple- highly effective- and once you give them the experience of that- they'll listen to just about anything else you have to say with great curiosity...

Would it help to frame the hypnotic state itself as an opportunity to get curious about how YOU work and explore the possibilities yourself?  As you entered this state of exploration and learning, would you find it easier to focus on learning and retaining all the knowledge you find?

 

My experience is that just entering the state of hypnosis on a regular basis will help the person accomplish their goals.

As a high school student and hypnotist I can see how teachers can make learning easier. Here are some tips you can give to those teachers:

First of all, make it enjoyable. Lots of my friends started hating a certain class and getting lower grades because of the teacher's bad way of doing things. So when you are close to your students they will be more open to your ideas and give them much more importance and respect than if you were the teacher they hated.

Once you've established the first step it will be easier to convice them that the learning process has to occur unconsciously first. And to make that happen, they have to use their imagination for example. And then you can proceed to a simple visualization exercise that will improve their concentration and tell them to do it everyday.

You can subtly induce and anchor a super learning state with some NLP, imagination, submodalities...

And also teach the students a way to be calm and focused during the exam so they can access as much resources as possible.


I mentioned imagination exercises a lot. But to get the most out of them, you have to convince the students that the imagination has a strong effect on the body, with doing things like suggestibility tests whether it's physical (finger magnets is the easier to do) or mental (lemon test, where you describe slicing a lemon and eating it, and you will notice that everyone is salivating)

Make sure they present it in an acceptable and entertaining way, and do it after they have established some rapport with the students. And I'm sure that in the beginning they won't take it seriously but with time, it will change.

All of the above answers sound like good ideas.  I've got something else that everyone else may laugh me out of the room for, or it may be a good way to steer the discussion in a different direction.

 

In the erotic hypnosis arena, there's such a thing as hypnotizing someone to behave like a bimbo - people sign up to be hypnotized to have their IQ lowered!  Now whether this actually happens, or they just act like they do, I'm not sure, but I've always wondered whether the reverse were possible, whether one can be hypnotized to _raise_ their IQ.  (And if it is all roleplay, I think I'd rather play at being super smart than being dumbed down.  ;-) )
