Hi HypnoThoughters!
I am doing a talk for local teachers at a High School. They want to learn self hypnosis stratagies to work with their students to improve their test scores on standardized testing. I am thinking I will teach anchoring techniques and talk other NLP type processes and definitely the Ellner Barsky Emotional detox with the hands to put them in a better emotional state to begin testing.
Any other ideas I could help them with?? I have quite a bit of time to use and want to make sure I have enough they can actually use.
Thanks in advance for helping me help those who are our future!!!
Andrea

Let me offer you an additional or possible alternative to the E/B-Detox
You can easily modify my How To Snap Out of A Bad Mood thingee into HOW TO HELP YOUR STUDENTS SNAP INTO AN IDEAL LEARNING STATE-technique
Learning, memory and taking exams are state dependent - I am going to teach you a fun exercise that you can teach to your students that will help them study, remember and do well on tests... Blah, blah, blah...
Warmest regards,

Permalink Reply by Bill Kennedy on March 26, 2011 at 12:04pm Would it help to frame the hypnotic state itself as an opportunity to get curious about how YOU work and explore the possibilities yourself? As you entered this state of exploration and learning, would you find it easier to focus on learning and retaining all the knowledge you find?
My experience is that just entering the state of hypnosis on a regular basis will help the person accomplish their goals.

Permalink Reply by Eric Paul LaRue on April 19, 2011 at 8:05am All of the above answers sound like good ideas. I've got something else that everyone else may laugh me out of the room for, or it may be a good way to steer the discussion in a different direction.
In the erotic hypnosis arena, there's such a thing as hypnotizing someone to behave like a bimbo - people sign up to be hypnotized to have their IQ lowered! Now whether this actually happens, or they just act like they do, I'm not sure, but I've always wondered whether the reverse were possible, whether one can be hypnotized to _raise_ their IQ. (And if it is all roleplay, I think I'd rather play at being super smart than being dumbed down. ;-) )
Thoughts?
