Just wondering if someone could tell me something, I understand that the 99 hours worth of videos from the conference are going to be available to watch after the summit until March 29th, but my question is can you only view them but not save them, or will you be able to actually download them & save them to your computer so you can watch them & or burn them to disc later if you want to?

Just wondering as it would be hard to view 99 hours worth of videos in the two week time frame after the conf ends especially when I will be gone for an entire week after the conference is over.

No, you can't download the videos.
Guess I won't be able to purchase a ticket for it then, because I leave on the 15th the day the conference ends & won't be back until the 23rd & like I stated there is no way I could possible watch that many hours of video in the short time I would have left.

Any ideas why the decision was made not to allow people who are already paying to watch or attend the summit not to be able to save the videos or certain ones they want to save for viewing later?
Scott or Melissa could give you an answer but I know they are both busy getting ready for the Summit. I've been attending in-person conferences for 20 years. They never allow recording of any sort there either.
Hi Steve,

I asked Scott a few weeks ago if recordings of the eSummit would be available for sale. I hope he doesn't mind my posting his reply here, since the answer was for posting elsewhere in a public forum.

"... we will be selling recordings of lectures, including one version where we sell the entire conference as a package. We are working the pricing so that it is advantageous to come to the live event rather than pre-record it though.

When you consider that the $129 gets you all the lectures for 2 weeks it makes so much sense to do that rather than pick off a list and only buy 5 videos or so...."
I have to back Katherine on this one, although I've never actually attended a live conference I know from other and from the ones that for instance the NGH holds that normally you pay to attend and then if there are any classes that you missed you can buy the DVD that they themselves produce after and then they have their library that you can rent from, which I have many of them now but they are always back atleast 2 years from the present year.

Although it would be great if we could somehow record it is not something that is normal and I would suppose that like any of use these people want to make money for giving their time so selling the DVD's after would give them a bit extra. Can't fault them for that we are all in business to make money after all, I'm sure setting this up and running it was not free for anyone.
Bonjour Steve,

My personal belief is that your money would be very well spent even if you have only a single week to watch the videos from the eSummit. I have paid up to $60 each to receive an ebook/manual/CD/DVD that covers the same valuable information as any ONE of the 99+ presentations scheduled.

I consider my personal Break-Even point to come after "attending" merely 3 of the presentations on tap!

And keep in mind that many of the vendors will have free mp3's, ebooks, pdfs, etc. for you to download at their booths!

I have 0 idea of what this actually entails, but just based on the generosity of the HypnoThoughts Tribe--who regularly share similar, highly valuable items for free with us--I would imagine that you could get your money's worth on this event just from the digital swag, BEFORE you even start watching any videos!

Rather than focus on the "pain" of what you might be missing (the Extra week everyone else gets in order to digest the videos), perhaps you might focus instead on the "pleasure" you will derive from your free downloads and one (presumably Intensive!) week of learning cool new shiz from the videos you have time to watch!

I just received a conference catalog in the mail today from one of the certifying organizations that runs continuing education conferences. IF you are a member (dues of $85/yr) and IF you sign up early, the cost of attending is $299. IF you are a member and do not sign up early the cost to attend is $319. If you are not a member you pay $349 for early registration and $369 for later. That is the cost to attend the conference. There are travel releated expenses, hotels and meals/drinks, shuttles or rental cars, etc. in addition.

What do you get for your $369. You get 64 free one hour lectures. If you want to attend one of the two hour or four hour workshops you must pay $30 or $55 extra PER WORKSHOP. There are additional day long or multi-day training classes from $165 to $1795. And, after the conference is over you can purchase audio CD's of the individual lectures for $10 per one hour lecture. YOU CANNOT RECORD ANY LECTURE IN ANY MEDIUM--audio or video.

So, you easily spend $2000 for a 3 day conference with only memories and a briefcase full of handouts to take home. Is it worth that much money? Absolutely, without a doubt. For the past 10+ years I have attended 4-6 conferences every year. Why? Because I always learn something--maybe only 1 little thing-- but I learn something I can use to expand the scope of my practice. If I had not started going to conferences years ago I would possibly still be stuck working part time and only dreaming of leaving my day job. It means the difference between being able to give up your day job and pursuing your dream full time.

So, lets keep things in perspective. You get a 3 days plus a full week to view as many lectures as you can for $129. Or, you spend $2000+ for 3 days. Or, you do not get that level of continuing ed and do not expand your practice. Hummm. Which should I choose???

The speakers have spent their time and money to bring these lectures to you. These are people just like you and me who work hard at their craft every day. Their lectures and materials are copyrighted because it has cost them a lot of money to get them to market. Their choice would be to keep their information to themselves and make no money from it, or share it in the hopes of your wanting to take a training class with them or buy a book/CD/DVD from them. If you could download their materials it would be like stealing it. No one would share their innovative techniques very long if their work could simply be downloaded at will. I assume people paid to attend hypnosis school. Why would they consider that everything should be free after that?

I'm sorry to be so strident. However, I have heard this same question and same attitude many times already. Success for us as individuals and for our profession depends on our individual levels of education and training. What if your surgeon graduated from medical school and never went to a continuing education class because it was too epensive and he couldn't take every class that was offered? Or your attorney? Or, even your pastor or rabbi? Since you can't view them all, then to you it isn't worth viewing any. You should not attend if that is your attitude. You catch snatches of continuing ed when and where you can. The HypnoSummit provides the opportunity to grab both hands full for pennies compared to other ways.
The link to buying tickets for the hypnosummit seems to be broken. I can't find a way to get in and purchase. Any suggestions by anyone who has managed to buy tickets?

Also, what time does this thing start tomorrow:
Hi Steve - I charge $150.00 per hour - for only $129.00 you have the opportunity to catch two hours with me. There are several great speakers that I'd pay $129.00 to have just one hour of learning from them. Even being gone a week - it is a great opportunity for learning.
Try it again - I think it's working now.
Sorry Jo Moon-
you tried while we were switching servers. We had over 700 people visit the site on thursday before 8 pm (and we aren't even live yet!) so we had to move over to a much larger and faster server before we opened the doors.

During that time everything was down for just a few minutes. Check again, I'm sure it will be fine now.

Thanks,
Scott
