Is anyone out there using EFT (or any other form of meridian tapping) in conjunction with hypnosis? If so, how is it working for you?

I have used EFT, as a stand alone technique, in my practice and have a great deal of success. Recently I started to incorporate EFT in conjunction with my hypnosis sessions. I'm finding it to be extremely useful. I some cases teaching EFT to the client is easier than teaching them self-hypnosis. I'd love to hear if anyone else is using it as a part of their practice and what results they have experienced. Thanks!
Personally, I've never used EFT very much but know of many practitioners (some of whom are on this site) who swear by it. I'm sure many people have found it to be a great one-two punch, but like I said, I don't use it more than a couple times a year.

We've had people at the HypnoSummit discuss it, and I'm pretty sure there are other discussions on this site about it already. I'd run a search in this discussion forum and see what comes up.

hope this helps,

Get ahold of Katherine Zimmerman (on this site). She uses a great deal of EFT, and feels it is even more dramatic when used in conjuction with a hypnosis session.
I'm a fan of Robert Smith's Faster EFT -- simplified EFT with other components thrown in. I've been learning it just by watching his many YT videos... and according to him, what he does IS hypnosis (since the client must go inside their minds in order to recognize what to tap on) -- very often, after a loaded round of tapping, it is quite clear that the person is in a trance, as they process and store new patterns (here's a good example). He moves a little fast for my taste, but the method obviously works.

He combines and uses many techniques, each depending on the situation at hand. The tapping itself is basic and simple.

I've been using it on myself and friends, and it is AMAZING to watch the layers come off an issue, each one provides another tapping opportunity until the rating is down to zero. Then swish to something positive.

I'm changing my own life with it, including success in weight loss (tapping away cravings and the reasons behind cravings). I've been able to - finally/slowly - come off beta-blockers I was taking for stress and tension headaches.

I highly recommend combining this simpler version of tapping with hypnosis. It's entirely Win/Win.
Thanks Cheryl......I've also read something by Cal Banyon of the Banyon Hypnosis center. He also feels EFT is a form of hypnosis. I will check out Robert Smith"s Faster EFT......thanks for the tip.

Thanks Dennis.....I'll contact Katherine Zimmerman and hopefully gain some additional insight!

I sometimes use Chinosis to help clients dispel negative emotions. This process is similar to EFT, but uses pressure instead of tapping at specific points along with hypnosis. I believe Jonathon Chase can expound on it!
I use both EFT and hypnosis. Specifically, I use EFT for intense in-the-moment negative emotions, and when they are cleared, I anchor the new cleared state with trancework. My clients love it. The good news is that together these techniques are very fast. The bad news is that I now have to get even more clients.
Ive been to a few of Roberts sessions. I am fortunate enough to live in the same city as he. I enjoy seeing him in action. EFT can be used with hypnosis.. alot of therapists use it before the hypnosession and at times after, its also good with abreactions as well, while in the hypnotic state.

Carol, you lucky!!! I'm envious. XD
If one were to believe that everything is hypnosis and that all techniques were simply constructs and rituals that conveyed information to the unconcious mind in focused and directed ways, then it might make sense to see a technique like meridan tapping which incorporates primal and quasi mystical energy point stimulation as a very powerful induction in and of itself. If one was then to use a differant construct to induce trance prior to using the tapping construct to induce trance there is a good chance that your trance partner would experience "trance within trance" perhaps even without the "hypnotist" trance partner realizing exactly what had happened, If one were to simplify my complex explanation one might come down to the simple description of fractionation which is my and every other stage hypnotist's favorite deepner.
So yes it should work well given that your pretalk sets up tapping well. If you conguently believe that "tapping" works. tapping will work. However if tapping is not your cup of tea there are many ways to get to the same result. Don't get hung up on the mechanics of tapping as the only viable path,
One might also consider the possibility that considerring tapping as a seperate modality, apart from hypnosis, may limit the results you can achieve when using tapping with a client.

I teach most of my clients how to use Chinosis (similar principles to EFT) in the first session. I use it as a self hypnosis technique that will back up what we have done in the session. I tend to do it at the very beginning so it gives ther person confidence that the change they notice is as a result of what they have done and not dependant on me. That means they are more likely to use it. It has the advantage that thye can use it anywhere and don't have to find somewhere quiet to listen to a CD.

It also has a benefit with smokers, physical habits and issues that are triggered by boredom because it gives people something physical to do.
