Does anyone have any experience treating a client who has narcolepsy, using hypnosis? It seems to me that it should be possible... Thanks!

Hi Marianne,

I have worked with someone who is narcoleptic, altho that wasn't the presenting issue. Here are a few comments in a related discussion: http://www.hypnothoughts.com/forum/topics/hypnosis-for-isp-isolated

I believe hypnosis can be very beneficial to a client who has narcolepsy. Learning to recognize and mitigate triggers of narcoleptic episodes, dealing with the limitations of the condition (social, work, driving, etc), addressing the very real and frightening attacks of cataplexy and hallucination are all approaches such a client could use. And that's just a start!

Thank you for your worthwhile contribution to the discussion Kelley, hopefully others will pick up the gauntlet and add accounts of their own views and experiences!
