Hi all,

I have been working with a guy who does not have scheduled life. He usually wakes up by 3:00 p.m and sleeps at 4:00 a.m.. He roam out every night with friends. He cannot even concentrate on his study due to his unmanaged schedule. I have been working with him since 3 days and what I do is just put him into trance and giving positive suggestions. eg. your life is scheduled, you love to sleep early etc. I would like to know if this will work or not? What else I can do for getting him back to the track. The guy deeply wants to change his bad habits.

Whether this will work or not is up to your client. I would help him before trance to work out the schedule he wants as specifically as possible. Include bed time and wake up time, school schedule and study time, making sure to leave time for friends either early evenings, weekends or whenever he wants his free time to be. In trance you can walk him through his daily schedule reinforcing how rested, energetic, academically successfull, empowered...his words his goals...he is. Even include other people noticing the changes and what might they be saying. He may also find friends who are more in alignment with his goals and who motivate him positively.

You could do parts therapy to get agreement between the partier and the student to work together for a more balanced life.

My best to you!
J.

Cheerag, I am doubting that simple positive affirmations will help this, as it does not appear that he "knows how" to schedule his life. Just a suggestion ... I would be telling him a story (in Trance) about say a factory ... divided into shifts of the workers of the day and the workers of the night. I would talk about how difficult it was to work when the day workers came in to find the mess of the night workers and all the raw material scatterred about the factory. etc etc. and then I would talk about a new manager and a plan where the workers of the day cooperated with the workers of the night, and the job of the workers of the night was to prepare the factory and the materials for the workers of the day. You can embellish that if you like or invent another metaphor that is equally effective. But I would be using a metaphorical foundation to show him WHY he needs a "scheduled Life"

Great ideas have been mentioned so far. In addition, I think that your client needs significant, major and important meaningful goals. Has he discovered his inner purpose? Why is here on this planet? What is his life journey all about? Some inner work and/or "soul" searching appears to be needed here as well.

As someone who has worked shifts for many years, my perspective is that he might not be unscheduled. He's just in night shift mode; awake at night and drowsy during the day. His circadian rhythm is in opposition to the natural diurnal one which relates to light and dark.

I would ensure my language was positive...

I've just remembered Two Futures. Have him imagine a future in which he continues with life as he knows it today. Where will that lead, what might it look/feel/sound like? Then imagine a future in which he has created balance, success and freedom due to his self-determination and discipline. What might that look/feel/sound like? And, of course, he has already chosen his path.

What is his lifestyle..does he work? is he in a state of depression?
there are alot of questions i would have..I lknow you have did a intake on him that
would lead you in the direction you need to go with hypnosis.

Insonmia, depression, stress, anxiety etc they can all be this or none of them.

Thanks to all for your reply. This boy has already set his goal but he cannot achieve until and unless he leave his unmanged life.He does not have any depression or anything but he loves to being with friends, having drink, smoking and roaming. He is 18 yrs old and not doing any productive activities. I think he would only concentrate on his life once he leave bad boyz group.

Hi Cheerag,
I like the two futures thing that was mentioned earlier. I would get him to a place where I could start with the achieved goal, and then work backwards. Have him see himself as already having achieved his goal. Already in the new schedule successfully doing whatever it is he was striving for, and then have him tell you step by step, or even in a story form, whatever mode that he relates with, about how he got there, starting from already being there and working backwards. In his answers to you, can be your suggestions to him that already have a seed in his mind as already working.

It's ok to be ok,
Steve
