"Lie to Me", He Said with a smile,
"I can't!", She replied honestly
"Why not?", He questioned.
"You always know!", She Confessed.

Hi All,

Guess who's back?
Sorry for being away for almost a year, but i can assure you, this time, I am here to stay!

Now for my actual post:

Ever watched the Series, Lie To Me?

well basically its this guy who analyses people using gestures, micro and mini, to read people and solve crimes, similar to the series the mentalist, now, the thing is, what ever he does and in this movie is a science and not overly dramatic.

Especially since my intrigue has sent me on a trip of learning everything i can on it...
My take, its phenomenal, especially with hypnosis in the mix, superb for rapport and analysing subjects, anyone else here knows about it, of it, uses it?

If I did it, I would go crazy.

Haha well said, obviously you miss stuff but if you study body language, I can promise you from first hand experience things run much smoother. You can tell when something you said didn't go down well, you can tell who does and doesn't get on with who, you can tell who is going to try and manipulate and dominate you in business so it is a great tool to have in your arsenal.

I would really recommend it.

Hey Leo
Glad to have you back mate.

Micro Gestures amazingly powerful stuff, naturally mentalists like DB use it hugely, and they are just as effective in sending signals, as they are receiving them.

Jamie Smart has a great video where he demonstrates this - pointing to out the window or to the rubbish bin when saying things like 'you used to lack confidence...' etc.

And any student of conversational work will know about gesturing to oneself when you talk about, that warm, caring person who you just have to trust...

As therapists we really can use this tool to both observe and suggest, but like all tools, it's best developed UNCONSCIOUSLY and automatically.

Cheers,
Nathan

Awesome mate...

Though I have to admit, many here are mistaking, Body language and Gestures for what i really am talking about and that is microgestures, which in my opinion is far different though very much similar to the above... gestures even cultural can be manipulated and hidden, but microgestures are uncontrollable and eminate from subconscious reactions to their inner thoughts and feelings and are unavoidable... and is very true...

Knowing this... A hypnotist will have a very DIFFICULT time in failing anything he wishes to accomplish...

Oh sorry I didn't realize, I should have read the question properly.

To be honest I can really find anything from searching in google. Maybe Michael or someone good at searching could find something.

That's why I said about the context that the "word," if you like, is presented like when I said about the person who is cold, you cannot take an arms crossed gesture as negativity in this situation. What you're really looking for is incongruency between the words they are saying and what they are gesturing.

By no means is it perfect but it is an art and anyone who has properly studied human behavior will be able to spot a mis-placed gesture that gives a different meaning to their "language".

Take all you read here with a large pinch of salt.

Body 'language'

A language meaning cannot be interpreted by a single word, you have to put the concept together. A word is useless, a sentence is helpful, but as to the whole meaning?

Think about it ...... and ........rejoice ...............in your...........freedom..........to think.
