the Free Hypnosis Social Network
I have a classmate whose daughter was diagnosed with a disorder where her brain doesn't tell her that she's full, so she's always hungry. She's looking for a hypnotherapist who has experience with children and/or this disorder. She lives about half way between Sacramento and San Francisco (said it's about 40 miles either way). She said she's also about 30 miles from Berkley and Napa Valley. Does anyone have any ideas?

My Nephew has a syndrome that sounds the same. It is called Prader-Willies Syndrome( spelling ?) This is a genetic condition. There is a very active support group in San Francisco. If she Googles Prader-Willies, San Francisco I' sure that it will come up but if not get back with me and I'll run down the info.
It is a very challenging condition to deal with and a good support group will help.

Hi, I am a Hypnotist in the Bay Area and I spent a decade working with developmental disabilities on the East and West Coast prior to becoming a Hypnotist for now over a decade.
During my work as a case manager I did work with a group of 'Prader-Willies' professionally. I'm not sure what you are describing is in fact that. However, if it is, one of the characteristics of Prader-Willies is that they also have a tendency to be sociopathic in nature. One client fed another rubber gloves to 'see what would happen'. This would indicate an inability to connect and see others as human. If that is the case, the odds of Hypnosis being effective are not great in my honest opinion.
I'd be happy to do a screening with your friend and her daughter but I'm not sure Hypnosis would be the right avenue if the diagnosis is correct.
Best wishes,
-Robert
