Hypnotherapist in UK jailed for sexual assault on client.

Just read about this today. I thought everyone might be interested to know. Totally inappropriate and unethical. I understand for every 1000 good hypnotherapists there is going to be one bad apple.

''People who cross boundaries taking advantage of their profession, should and need to be in disgrace" I wish that the psychologist whom I hired to help me with my teenage boy will be cough too, I don't agree with therapist who think they have the right to ask for personal questions about their sex life, especially that it is not related to what they came for at the first place.

I really pray for that day to come, I hear from clients how this people take advantage of them sexually and it boils my blood, and It makes me sick, and I don't feel sorry for any one who does that and is disgraced.

Yes, someone posted this a short while back. Gives the hypnotists that are doing good things a bad name.

We also need to remember that there are doctors, lawyers and teachers out there that do the same thing! It happens in every profession I am sure where there is someone in a position of authority.
As part of my practice I deal with relationship issues and sexual issues, and even though I have to ask very personal questions about a persons sexual activity in order to determine the correct therapy, the line between being a respectable, trustworthy therapist and being a predator is a huge bold one that you cannot miss. This guy deserves to be banged up! And yes I do take this personally due to the nature of my work. I mean, as a hypnotherapist I'm always offended when another hypnotherapist/hypnotist attracts bad press but when it's in a sexual sense I'm even more so due to the nature of that part of my business!
I have heard many of these stories but, if this is a true one I feel so bad that we the good ones have to overcome the ones that give hypnotist the bad names,,,just have faith and do the good job you do and it will be positive for those os us doing the job se are doing helping others in the correct way.
Yap, mine was a psychologist or psychiatrist who I was referred to him by a hypnotherapist who was taking psychology and he was the supervisor...this idiot had a dog therapist with him, just waiting for few victims to come out and I will be happy to testifies against him with my recording.

Hope and pray that his day will come, I am sure of it... I have complained to him about his outrage questions and he did not think he was wrong, and I did record our conversation, of course he does not know, I just wanted to have my friends and family to hear it, because no one believed me.

Hi Richard,

I agree, and I also deal with relationship issues and sexual issues, and I do ask very personal questions if needed, but when someone crosses the line between being a respectable, trustworthy therapist and being a predator or pervert is a huge bold one that you cannot miss.
It's not about hypnotherapist, it's about sick people who use the title and that is what upsets me.

All the best, Doreen Cohanim C.Ht

And it's WRONG! Whoever abuses their position of trust; it's an abuse. There is no need for anyone to single out particular professions... It's just an easy tabloid story if its a doctor or an HT.
I agree! It is.
