Has anyone tried this with their client's and what success have you had?

In Australia gastric banding is being heavily promoted and rebated by the government.

To have this procedure hypnotically would alleviate the post trauma of surgery I would imagine.

I have had ideas like this, never done it.
I mean, of your mind believes, well. . . you get the idea.

So if the mind believes, then what about the negative health issues often associated with gastric band? I'm thinking that to use this as a therapy one would have to be very specific with the subconscious mind to avoid health issues such as problems with protein absorption. Am I being paranoid here? I'd love to get everyone's thoughts on this.

Hi Cynthia,

I have a client who had done the "Gastric Banding Surgery", according to him and his family, it was very helpful and he was very very happy, the surgery helped limiting his food intake by causing him to feel full immediately after eating a small amount of food. But for some unknown reason at the time, he started to gain weight again, by eating more, His Realize Band is strong and flexible silicone, that has a soft balloon that fits around the stomach. I think the amount of saline in that balloon controls the level of tightness around persons stomach, but for some reason this specific client started having complications, about six months after the surgery, he started gaining weight again, since I have been working with him, I came up with a weight loss program to help weight loss better, with or without this specific surgery... of course working with such client, it was much value to me, as I have learned a lot about weight loss, that is why I find this specific discussion to be just perfect for my clients....

Now, If I used the surgery procedure during hypnosis, then my answer is yes and no, since some were easy to use guided imagery and some I had to find other ways to deal with it.

I hope it answers your question...

Unfortunately, both The Daily Mail and The Sun are rags with reputations for sensationalist and opinionated hype, and very little to do with credibility.
It would be good to have the source for information coming from at least a reputable newspaper, or better still, a journal. I'm glad to hear that the hypnotherapy body is cautious about this treatment at present.

I'm also over seen over the years some people who have had various types of stomach based weight loss surgery.
Some of these individuals continued to eat heavily anyway, and put the weight back on, post surgery, and at that point with no recourse, they went back to being exceptionally heavy with no other options.
When they got here, Hypnosis was the only thing that helped.

LOL.. Richard....
One of my sister in law's had the liposuction surgery about a year and a half ago, and it took care of her access fat under her chin, stomach, hips, thighs, but it gave her a bigger buttocks instead.. any ways, she looks allot better today, but her liposuction is a substitute to dieting and exercise, with liposuction she was able to get rid of her stubborn areas of fat, that they did not responded well to traditional weight loss methods. ( Especially her double chin )

Today, she is on and off with her weight, never the same, but she is still in risk of gaining all back, if she is not watching her diet and keep up with her fitness activities... with all that said, he chin never got the extra fat, so it is better then nothing, and she is not open to hypnotherapy, she is so afraid to lose control, it is unreal :), so I like to tease her, I say to her Hi Sister In law, look into my eyes and she laughs so loud as she is having fun with me, but in reality she is afraid to lose control.

So that bring us back to hypnotherapy and hypnosis works the best.

I"m so glad to know you are having great results with my techniques. Some clients do get irritated--which is a good indicator of the emotional baggage attached to their migraines. But, when they get relief they usually get over being irritated.
