If you could be anything, have anything, or do anything, what Is the one thing you want the most?

What is it? Money, Happiness, a convertable, to be a rocket scientist, hypnotist, inventor... WHat is the one thing you would really want if you could have anything?

And Why?

What a great question, Amanda. Hmmm...only one?

I would be a PhD neuropsychologist with a thriving practice. I could take insurance. I would have the status and many resources. I would be making enough money to be totally comfortable financially, not ever having to worry about money again and could just work, play, save, invest, travel DO LIFE! And I would be beyond loving my work 4ever!

Hi Amanda,

At 67 I don't want to go back to school...at least not THAT much school. The rest is in the WERKS.

Great question. I think I will have to think about it and get back to you. When I saw this discussion I jump in and then I cannot find just one thing. My mind started going into overdrive. Something to think about.

I would like to live amongst a civilized people for whom trust, co-operation and the social good came before monitory greed, corruption, and fear.

Sadly I am pissing in the wind with that particular wish. Oh well...

Kthx,

Adrian

I totally agree with Adrian's idea. That is something I too have wanted.

But if I could have something it would be for there to be peace amoungst every person and nation.

Nirvana!>
Buddha described nirvana as the perfect peace of the state of mind that is free from craving, anger and other afflictive states (kilesa). The subject is at peace with the world, has compassion for all and gives up obsessions and fixations. This peace is achieved when the existing volitional formations are pacified, and the conditions for the production of new ones are eradicated. In Nibbana the root causes of craving and aversion have been extinguished such that one is no longer subject to human suffering (dukkha) or further states of rebirths in samsara.

The hypnagogic state is that state between being awake and falling asleep. For some people, this is a time of visual and auditory hallucination. Please feel free to discuss your experiences and questions here.
