I was on my campus, relaxing with a bunch of classmates in between my long breaks in classes. In my college, the cafeteria has a section with open space, small mini-tables, and comfortable armchairs and sofas (PERFECT for hypnotizing). One of my friends looked somewhat miserable, fed-up if you will. He didn't complain, but when I asked him how he felt, he said that he felt like he's had it today, like he talked to too many people, thought enough thoughts, did enough work today, and that he worked too much already in one day and wishes for the day to end so he can relax and hopefully feel good again.
I started asking him business advice, and how I would market personal fitness training and hypnotism (something I am definitely going to start for myself, but for now, something to get him to forget about FEELING.) I then said a few things to create a yes set, and then quickly said, "Hey, let's try this real quick." He immediately agreed before asking what it was and just did what i told him without hesitation.
I said something along the lines of ," Close your eyes, relax your neck muscles(lay your head back),...." and then did a short progressive relaxation starting from his hands and toes. Then, I brought him into a house, where he opened the door, and there was a flight of stairs somewhere in the house with ten steps. Each one of these steps gradually brought him deeper as he went UP. But at the top of the stairs he saw himself, looking down back at himself. The person at the top was the person he wants to be NOW. The way he could be if only he had the security, the drive, the motivation, and that taste of pure happiness that drove him for it. And so on the first few steps,I told him to think of a good memory, followed by revivifying of each good memory, and then each step, getting him closer and closer to who he wants to be, slowly subconsciously making the proper changes in order to reach the Better You...each step turned into a memory where he was laughing uncontrollably, and then a feeling of safety, and then a feeling of motivation, and then a feeling where he felt he was making a commitment to himself, that he would get to this great place in life and only move out of it in order to get to a greater place.
Then I took him back down the stairs, one by one, going backwards, remembering all those great feelings (were memories in the beginning, now they are feelings), and then took him out of the house, where he entered a place with wonderful weather, and back into the realm of conscious awareness.
He came out feeling absolutely wonderful and could not thank me enough. During the day he kept finding me, telling people how great he feels thanks to me. I told him the power to change is all inside him and only him.

He woke up and told everything it only took 35-40 minutes. It actually only took 12 minutes! (time distortion?)

This might not be perfect, but it was all off the top of my head. Please tell me what you think, what I should have/could have done differently, your own similar methods, or just verbally punishing me until I cry in a corner. It all helps!

-Chris

PS- That's me in the picture. That's a sofa from the cafeteria I was talking about. I hypnotized him in an armchair which is a lot better.

If he came out feeling absolutely wonderful and could not thank you enough, then it sounds like you did an excellent job! Technically is seems very sound what you did - which is great for a spontaneous ad lib. Perhaps when he reached the top of the stairs you could have had him fuse with the image of his ideal self, and take these positive feelings with him?

I dunno though - that sofa looks pretty comfy!!!

i should have mentioned that before but that's exactly what I did. I had him fuse into that new better version of himself and then walked down the stairs, visiting those memories one more time, and then walk out of the house and into the world of conscious awareness. Thanks for your comment!
Sounds good to me!!
