the Free Hypnosis Social Network

I was reading some reviews about a book called sleight of mind when I ended up on a site selling a conversational hypnosis product. In the sales patter it mentioned the organisation the international hypnosis association and surprisingly the only recommended course is this conversational hypnosis course.

Has any one heard about this organisation and the course or is it another organisation formed to try and give credibility to the author and product?

No ... not surprisingly Nick ... It is fairly inactive until it comes to awards and reviews. A while back about this time of year there was some hoopla about the "Hypnosis Book of The Year Award" from one of those presenters that sorta blows in here during summit season, I tried to find out a bit more about it... turns out the award was only given out once and nobody else had ever won it. (Couldn't find it anywhere on the internet) Thier web site was called "Hypnosiscredentials.com" and I never got an answer to any emails I sent there, and neither did anyone else I asked to try it. After I started poking around the website was remodeled and some happy smiling NLPers were appointed to some technical advisory board, but they still never said much as to the "about us" stuff. (unlike the NGH and IMDHA who are happy to tell you who the officers are) But we still got no answer to emails. Crazy thing was the site owner was hidden by one of those "hid your identity firms". Can't imagine why. It was almost as if this was a marketing promotion type deal, but who am I to say. The guy that got the award was controversial and some say He never did a Hypnosis show, but I don't know. He is "retired" now. I never trained with him so I can't say whether he is good or bad. I have talked with people who have trained with him and for whatever reason I decided to pass that opportunity by.
The book incidently got stunning reviews from the coauthors and folks like that. My opinion of the book and the opinion of a few of the professional stage guys like Justin Tranz was not nearly as kind. But some folks loved it. I had problems figuring out what any of the pictures had to do with Stage Hypnosis. But that's just me. There were shots of the guy on a cell phone, carrying a brief case,, doing all sorts of things but Stage Hypnosis. Another wierd thing was it was self published by westward publishing... Wow I almost mistook that for the immpeccable credentials of Gil Boyne's Westwood publishing Co. I wonder if a newbie might make that mistake ... I wonder if that might have been done as a Marketing ploy. Nah Couldn't have! ...nobody would intentionally mislead you ..would they? just to sell a product? never did ask Gil about that .. Wonder if he Knows?
Getting back to the International Hypnosis Association..... WE have been talking a lot on the site about Phony PhDs and diploma mills and the kind of Crap that makes this profession less than professional. Everybody has an opinion.
Mine for what it's worth mine is that the International Hypnosis Association is not an essential Cog in the world of Hypnosis. But it's out there ..Must be doing something for somebody Hmmm Nod your head if you understand.

Ps .. Nic most (Not all) Covert Hypnosis courses are marketing Schemes designed to part you and your hard earned money. You might want to ask around here and get a couple of opinions before you buy it,

1, My review is on Amazon, I saw no reason to add it to Hypnothoughts
2, Mr. Hypnosis is Richard Rumble. He is on the site, ask him yourself.
3. Gil Boyne's Publishing Co, Westwood Publishing has published a number of major works.. Dave Elman's "Hypnotherapy" among them

I would like to point out here that Richard Rumble performs as Mister Hypnosis... NOT Mr. Hypnosis..... My marketing materials have been Mister Hypnosis from the very beginning, ( even as I was in a Jerry Valley class that Mr. Ronning attended...) and my trademark is for Mister Hypnosis.

I believe that Mr. Hypnosis or Mr. Hypnotist belong to Ronning .....

Please do not mistake Mister Hypnosis for Mr. hypnosis......

HUGH.... I looked at your review.... now I am REALLY curious...

WHAT is in Ronnings book that mentions ME?? nothing bad I hope...
No Richard ... Who could ever write something bad about you! There is a Mister Hypnosis and a Mr, Hypnosis in the world of show business as you so appropriately pointed out. I am perhaps confused as I thought Geoff was Mister Hypnosis and you were Mr. Hypnosis but it's pretty easy to get it confused. Which is my point. There are a lot of shows out there done by Richard Rumble (At last count I had nine of your DVD's) and If I wanted folks to think I was doing shows (so I could teach them how to do shows) a nice generic name like Mr Hypnosis might just get me a couple of "I heard of Him's".
I believe he refers to himself as Mister Hypnosis in the book or on a poster I saw and I was trying to set the record straight as you did in a previous post. I don't have the book any more (It was not a keeper and too thick to use to level my table) or I would check it.
