Time is a femoral dictating constraint and dilemma, linear measure it golden rule.

There is not a person alive who at one time or another has not had the sensation of the distortion of time. Whether it was the arrival of a friend or waiting for your turn, time seemed unbearable in its passing. Documentation on the subject of time distortion used in hypnosis exists.

So my question is have you used time distortion and in what fashion and to what end was it effective or not?

I invariably use time distortion during a first session with a client.

The session might take about an hour and a half, the first half hour being taken up with pre talk, and exploration of the area to be worked on.

The session of hypnosis usually takes about an hour. and towards the end before terminating the hypnosis, I slip in something like " and you will be feeling on top of the world both mentally and physically, just for having enjoyed this short session of hypnosis"... and then I might reinforce that, by later saying "you will open your eyes feeling refreshed and alert, feeling so much better for having enjoyed these couple of minutes of relaxation"

When they open their eyes, and we have a chat, amongst other things, I will casually ask, " and how long did you feel like you were sitting with your eyes closed?" they invariably say something like five or ten minutes.

I then ask them to look at their watch, and there is a sudden double take, as they realise that they have been sitting there for a lot longer than they thought.

People often say that this really convinced them, more than anything else, that something diffferent had happened, and the degree of time distortion, gives an indication, of how well they are responding to suggestions.

LOve and hugs,

Fable
