HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

Good Day.

I have been studying Hypnosis for a while now using many online resources. I completely understand the process, the theory on how it works with the brain and the various techniques one can use. I have had fantastic success with volunteers willing to be my practice subjects. I am therefore thinking about getting certified as a Hypnotist and hopefully starting my own practice at some stage.

My problem is that I am located on South Africa and there are not many Hypnosis Schools here and those that are are too far away for me to travel to.

My question is: is there an institution/school in which one can apply for certification (and do an exam I would expect) that could provide me with a valid Hypnosis Certificate?

Thank you for any future responses.

Hi Braden,

I second what others have said about doing Steve Brooks online course (www.british-hypnosis-research.com). It is a very comprehensive year long course with over 45 hours of video content (live client sessions including analysis of what is being done and why), 120 lessons which include tests, assignments, recommended research and reading and recommended interaction with other students in the online forums. And it is free to do which makes it very affordable.

All the best

Dan
Hello Braden,

You have been offered some great advice here as usual this is a wonderful site

I would just like to wish you the very best of luck where ever you study.

Warmest regards

Karena.
Hi Braden,

I'd be interested to hear what you decided.
All comments have been more than helpful.

I am very interested in the courses provided by Steve Brooks and will seriously consider taking them. Currently, I am conferring with Leo from the Lion Institute of Hypnosis here in South Africa. Will take things from there.
Brandon,

Have a look at this link:

You may be able to recieve certification through video testing.

The nice thing About s.e.t. Is you can learn the skills anywhere book DVD class etc. Tour certification is based on demonstration of skills - can all be done online . Good one Richard/ can't believe I didn't think about it- I am a set instructor lol

Quick Update:

I have conducted a recorded examination interview with Braden and he is quite fluent with hypnosis ethics, safety and techniques and I found him to be quite impressive, he has completed everything I have sent him and is soon going to receive his Hypnosis Certification here in SA with the Lion Institute of Hypnosis.

And I have, upfront, explained the "credibility" of hypnosis certifications etc.

@Braden: Richards Nongards ICBCH Home Study is also a pretty brilliant set which I myself learned from and recommend it to you as theres always something more to learn from others, especially Richard.

Eternal Smiles,
Leo Gopal
