Your local Chamber of Commerce publishes a directory of clubs/organizations. It will be an easy source for you. They list the mailing address, officer's names, info about the organization and contact info. They also usually publish a listing of professional organizations such as National Assn. of Accountants, Professional Engineering Assn., etc. These groups are ALWAYS looking for speakers. You'll need to figure out how to slant your lecture to their member's needs but that's pretty easy to do.

I speak to lots of groups. Several years ago I spoke on hypnosis for stress reduction to the National Assn. of Accountants group here. It was year-end so almost everyone in attendance was stressed out. 5 years later I was the first and only non-accountant elected president of the group. I can't even balance my own checkbook! It was so funny. They were a great group of people and kept me busy for about 2 years promoting my corporate services to their clients. I knew absolutely nothing about accounting but I knew how to motivate people and all volunteer organizations need people motivators.

BTW, Conrad. I live on a farm, have horses because I like them (I"m the sucker who works for them instead of the other way around) but I haven't gotten to dress up in any silly costumes. And no one has told me about any secret meetings. Everyone around here likes me pretty well so I think if there were anything like that going on they would have invited me. My neighbor down the road gets drunk every once-in-while and swears aliens tipped his cows over. Personally, I think it is the college students looking for mushrooms that tip his cows instead of aliens--but some of them resemble aliens. Does that count?
