One option is you can get free publicity by submitting an article to my hypnosis article directory - HYPNOSIS ARTICLES.

You get to put a link and a short bio about you and your services at the end. Every article gets reprinted on about 20 or 30 different sites and blogs AND the better ones have the chance of being published on more. This is totally free except for your time.

IMHO providing well written and genuinly useful articles makes a better statement about your business than paid advertising.

I hope this helps you!

Hi Todd,

I hope this doesn't sound too smart-alecky, but the best place to put your hypnosis ads is somewhere that works.

Broadcast, scattershot advertising is both expensive and ineffective. If you're going to buy advertising at all (something I seldom recommend), find a media outlet whose demographic profile is the best match with the ideal client you're trying to reach (such as a pregnancy magazine for hypnobirthing), or choose a form of advertising that will allow you to tightly target who is exposed to your ad (such as using Pay Per Click ads and paying for certain keywords related to your niche.)

Your first step, before designing a brochure, putting up a website or buying ad space, is to determine your niche (such as weight loss, addiction recovery, pain control, smoking cessation, or whatever.) That will help you figure out who your ideal clients are. Part of understanding your ideal clients is understanding how they get the information they need to make purchase decisions. What do they read, watch or listen to? Where do they hang out online?

There are literally dozens of ways to attract clients to a local business, and traditional advertising is just one of them (and often, it has the lowest ROI.) One newer promotional concept is "social coupon" sites like Groupon. I put up a blog post that talks about how to use Groupon and Living Social. Check it out for a few tips.

It is very easy to spend money on advertising. It's far harder to get results from advertising.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

Thanks for your replies...I always like to check once in a while to see what the rest of you are doing and to see if there is a new angle I need to look at.

Where is the best place to put your Hypnosis ads?

Wrong question.  Asking this question will not get you great results.

You want to be able to ask a question like this...

"If I want to reach women ages 35-45 who make at least $55,000 a year,
live in zip code 94122 and want to lose weight,
what would be good media to use if I want to attract them as clients?"

The secret to successful advertising is matching Market, Media and your Message.  This means, you need to know WHO your market is, What MEDIA they read/watch/listen to and what PROBLEM they want to solve right now.
