HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

Hi Everyone,

I run the Tulsi Hypnosis Institute in South Africa, and am currently going through a revamp and restructuring, the main attention of which is going through to my online presence.

I offer two major services -

1 - Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Training

2 - Hypnotherapy and Coaching Services

I made my site live again for a bit for you to have a look - www.TulsiHypnosis.co.za

Should I have all on one website?

Or Should I have them on Two Seperate Websites?

If on Two Sites, how will I keep the synergy between them?

Thanks Everyone in Advance for your Awesome replies -

what would you do -

Hi Leo,

You don't necessarily need two sites (although I would ) but I think you should seperate your copy. I just read through your copy and it was kind of confusing as to what services you were offering. If I had gone to your page as I client I would probably have thought i was on the wrong site.

As a side note. Your name Tulsi is not important to the client. You only have a few seconds when someone lands on your site. They are looking for what's in it for them so you need to lead with how they can benefit from your services. Also from a search engine point of view you would be better off with "yourarea + hypnosis" website name.

Nobody knows you and nobody can find you.
I searched for a hypnotist in your area.  In web searches people commonly make, you are not even found.
Your domain name is your NAME.   Nobody is searching for YOU.  They are searching for a hypnotist.
Your headline in your poorly designed webpage with no SEO optimization is "Cecil Therapy Services"
People want a hypnotist NOT a therapist.   You make the common error of believing therapy or "hypnotherapist" is good.
But people search for Hypnotist NOT hypnotherapist.
They do NOT want an appointment with a therapist.  They want a hypnotist.

I did a search for Cecil Township.  You have 101,000 people in the county.  You should be able to do well there. If not, move your office to Newark, DE  or the Rossville.   Location is everything.  Sometimes you have to go where the people are.

Please note, I am not criticizing you.  The errors you have made in website creation (Starting with !!!! points, and ending with videos that are not YOU) are all common errors.   There is no professionalism in the graphics, the content is NOT optimized with meta tags, h1 and h2 tags, google maps or anything else that will drive traffic to the door.

You say "fill out this form and someone will contact you in 24 hours"
That is not how 2012 works.  People in the internet era want instant contact.   Embed boldchat and leave it on when you are at home.   Phone number should be at the top.  People who have not met you will not leave a message.

You have typos and poor grammar.  Now I am the KING of typos.  I hire somebody to proofread anything I am putting out to the public...

You have testimonials- that is GOOD.
You have a GREAT picture of you.
You have NO pictures of your office.
No video introduction or sample session.

Your services are not defined, with specificity.  You have no prices.

All of this I am clearly spelling out to you, so you realize that while you may be a great hypnotherapist (but use the term hypnotist if you want clients) you are NOT a good website creator, so hire an expert.  When you do you WILL get traffic and conversions.

You have two options other than fold up....
1.)  Hire a business coach who can guide you through some of this if you insist on a home-made webpage
2.)  Hire a webdesigner familiar with the hypnosis business and SEO

You have made many marketing errors that therapists make.  I think others will read this critique and find it helps them too.   You have a gentle and helping spirit about you and I wish you the best - but really consider that the internet and the internet done well, is about the only way to build a new practice quickly.

PS:  www.CecilHypnosisCenter.com is available   That is a MUCH better domain name.
Use a domain name that incorporates the geographic term people actually search for, and the word HYPNOSIS.

Thanks Barry and Richard via Elner lol -

Well - my location is South Africa - the Whole of South Africa - which is not that big...

Mainly the 3 Major Cities here (which I have been doing hypnotherapy in each city per month before having my practice close late last year)

So my location is the south african domain .co.za -

My Objective is to have my Courses done in South Africa as my primary source of Income and and Hypnotherapy secondary (not because I do it less, but because I will earn more with the courses because of the price difference [just how the south african pricing is] ) -

So I was wondering -

Would I need to have 2 seperate websites for this or just one that advertizes both?

I dont mind the domain which I am happy to change anytime -

Thanks so  much All!

Leo

Hey Leo,

There are SEO considerations which can influence this kind of decision.

But first and foremost is the experience of a prospect who is considering hiring you as a hypnotist or coming to you for training.

This month's teleseminar with Jonathan Altfeld will specifically show you how to find out what the decision making process is your prospects go through and how to use this knowledge on your marketing funnel (websites, blogs, videos etc.)

http://www.hypnothoughts.com/forum/topics/how-to-convert-your-prosp...

Before you decide, I HIGHLY recommend listening to what Jonathan will be sharing.

Customer experience first

SEO second.

Cheers,

Craig

Nothing of what is said is actually wrong... But considering what you just said I would cut it like this.

One site going with something like maincityhypnosis.co.za (will make you easy to find - This I would focus strongly on hypnosis training with the frontpage focusing ONLY on the hypnosis training.

Somewhere on the site I would offer hypnotherapy/coaching as a sidekick. This page should be optimized for hypnotherapy/coaching in the title tag and copy.

I would then build another more Niche oriented site offering ONE SINGLE service. Because as Nongard says people don't want a therapist, heck they don't even want a hypnotist. They want their problem fixed.

They MIGHT think a hypnotis can solve this, but the might be oblivious to it. So on this site I would NOT sell hypnosis, but a solution to say, stop smoking, weghtloss or breast enlargement if that you thang... Hypnosis is just your hook/USP, not your product..

I will go with the good old brain surgery analogy.

If you, god forbid, woke one morning with terrible headaches from a brain tumor. Would you call your local doctors office, who works with anything from worts to obesity, or would you start searching google for someone who is an expert in removing brain tumors and has a stellar system to deal with this?

Doing this makes selling unnecessary...
