HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

Came across this website because I am attending a Health Productivity Conference in which this topic will be discussed:  Improving Brain Productivity to Reduce Depression.  Here is what MyBrainSolutions lists as their benefits:

MyBrainSolutions is an interactive brain training site which brings together a brief objective brain assessment, games, videos and trackers designed to:

  • Reduce your stress
  • Boost your memory and attention
  • Maximize your positivity

I emailed them to ask if they were including any hypnosis in their "games" and "activities" as these are just "some" of the benefits I have listed in my practice for over a decade.  I'll let you know what they say.  Feel free to check it out yourselves.

This is the central thesis of Bruce Lipton's book, The Biology of Belief. (I haven't read the book, but Bruce spoke for the HypnoSummit last September and discussed this.) From the description on Amazon:

Through the research of Dr. Lipton and other leading-edge scientists, stunning new discoveries have been made about the interaction between your mind and body and the processes by which cells receive information. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology, that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our thoughts.

Ian,
Yes, check out Bruce Lipton.

I've bought into it... and don't see myself ever going back to Darwinian theory as being the end all.
Check it out, it is beyond...interesting information.
very exciting and fun.

Interesting site. I only briefly scanned it, but would be interested to hear more on this statement: There is also increasing evidence that training and experience can shape the way our individual genes are expressed.

On the face of it, this opposes Darwinian theory on evolution, depending upon the meaning of 'expressed'.

I highly recommend Bruce Lipton and his work. Candace Pert and her Molecules of Emotion are equally reputable. Although both get bashed by the "fundamentalist" scientists as "junk science."
Ian read this.
Ian,
Arrrrrre youuuuu tellin' me...

You support the Darwinian theory because..what?... 'it always has been' the belief?
GET!!! OUT!!! ~grin
(mouth opened in AWE and SHOCK) what? what? This doesn't compute with my 'idea' of you Ian.
I might have to now....adjust myself. (hahaha)
Would that be like sayin'.... 'I vote republican/democrat because my parents did so'? Makes NO sense...and yet MILLIONS of people still do this, also. ~eyebrows raised~

Let us go with the assumption that 'one book' can instantly change a world (as if the other education that a person acquires doesn't contribute to that ah ha moment) - I challenge you to actually read it and then discuss. With a good discussion on the facts of this idea - I am more than happy to alter my view. are you?

Good stuff!
and laughing...

Are you gentle but mistaken people for real?

You appear to be telling me that you read one book, and your whole world has changed? Any chance of some evidence, or perhaps some sensible counter argument? Or shall we unite and chant, "We read the Bible, so it must be true!" Amused, Ian
Genes are not what predetermines ones wellbeing, rather mind is what influences ones health.
Correlations may be drawn between physical symptoms and biological causes, however they are not in themselves conclusive evidence. Causal relationship is the enigma that is being demystified. Also read some of Dr. Hamer's work. He calls it, German New Medicine, the scientific connection between the Psyche, Brain and Organ.
New ideas are being brought to the mainstream. This is a cutting edge of consciousness, so limited data is now obtainable. Presently, I am not prepared to publish my findings, however you can go to other web sites for what is currently posted online or order whatever new books are available on this topic.

All the best,

Ian,

No worries. I'll wait.
When you read about the ideas of epigenetics (if it ever interests you to do so, in your own time), I would be happy to discuss it with you.
It would be pointless to create a discussion about it when you aren't familiar with his work.
That would be like asking you if you think my Saucony running shoes would work better for me if they had soft support or firm support for my arch? If you aren't familiar with running, how the shoe is made, and my foot, it makes the discussion a bit one sided.
Just because I enjoy Bruce Lipton's ideas... doesn't mean you have to.

waiting...

Ian,

I'm afraid you'll have to be a tad more specific: Lipton's hot tea, or iced tea? With sugar, or sugar-free? Regular size container, or does your particular choice come in an "economy-sized family pack"?
Green tea? Brown/black tea?? How in hell is she supposed to answer your question if you insist on being so bloody vague...?

Donna,

That's a "no-brainer"- FIRM support for your arch. Was that one of your usual "trick" questions? Speaking of which, I strongly suspect that your mention of "Saucony" running shoes was also a trick question, because as everyone knows, New Balance 992 is the ONLY worthwhile running shoe worth wearing.
And even though I'm unfamiliar with your feet, I can easily tell by your avatar photo that you're a size 7 (narrow, with a high arch).
If only ALL the questions on this Forum were so easy!!

This topic reminds me of the Documentary by Ben Stein called Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed

I really enjoyed the Documentary Movie. It goes along with the Lipton theory.
It also gives some backbone to what they are trying to prove.

Is it proof enough?
I don't know...... perhaps a step in the right direction for me, as I agree with Ben.
I would imagine most others will think it's like asking for proof of a soul or proof of God, before believing in a higher intelligence.

We all gain our own proof of what we believe.... It's a personal and (for some) private choice.
Blessings~
Jill
It is feared by many that our society, which is built like a "house of cards", could collapse if any blatant threat is ever revealed to the cornerstone of its foundation.
