HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

Came across this website because I am attending a Health Productivity Conference in which this topic will be discussed:  Improving Brain Productivity to Reduce Depression.  Here is what MyBrainSolutions lists as their benefits:

MyBrainSolutions is an interactive brain training site which brings together a brief objective brain assessment, games, videos and trackers designed to:

  • Reduce your stress
  • Boost your memory and attention
  • Maximize your positivity

I emailed them to ask if they were including any hypnosis in their "games" and "activities" as these are just "some" of the benefits I have listed in my practice for over a decade.  I'll let you know what they say.  Feel free to check it out yourselves.

Ian,
No-no.
This doesn't work.
You didn't go in with an open mind (biased Newtonian thinking to start ~grin).
And...you can't make an informed decision based on one article. (would you allow that in others? no.)
Some of your questions are answered in his work.
I embrace many of the ideas that Bruce Lipton has shared with us.

In all fairness to Donna and Doc Regal I searched through my library and unearthed a copy of Lipton's 'The Wisdom Of Your Cells'. I had it in a section called 'Read on a rainy day when the radio is not working'. As I ploughed through the first section I was amazed as to the ignorance of the man. For instance, he awards consciousness to the human body, its systems, its organs, and finally to its cells. He never actually explains what he means by a conscious cell, and the term 'anthropomorphic nonsense' came to mind. However, I read on.

He has a very manipulative style to his arguments. But its easy to spot the errors, if you pause and look for them. For instance, he talks of having a moment of divine inspiration in 1985, when he realized that the cell membrane is influenced by the environment. It would have been more accurate to state that the cell membrane is influenced by its environment, but we will move on. He further says that he realized that the cell membrane receives this influence by channels and gates in the membrane, similar to a computer chip...

I like toast and jam with my tea-- Ian.

There is evidence and you are right to insist on evidence. On the other hand, I don't believe in scientific facts and if the model empowers people and promotes healing, health and well being -- the model itself is good enough for me

Back to the evidence, I highly recommend investigating the citations found in:
The Genie in Your Genes: Epigenetic Medicine and the New Biology of Intention (9781604150117): Dawson Church

Hello Kathy, Donna, et al,

DNA/genes are not static. Genes can be turned on or off, but even more amazing is the emerging evidence that DNA is biologically engineered to learn, change and develop which makes sense from an evolutionary point of view. At least, according to my grasp of several discussions with Noble Prize Winning Geneticist Kary Mullis, bio-chemist, Candace Pert, and psycho-biologist Bruce Lipton. I remember discovering the work of Dr Lipton and being so impressed that I recommended Gary Null look into his stuff and consider booking him as a guest on his #1 national health related radio show and he did. Turns out that was Bruce's first national radio interview.

You may or may not be aware that if you wanted to recruit people for studies on treating "AIDS" related diseases and conditions using Alternative Medicine between 1982 and 1992- yours truly was to the "Go to Guy" Example, HEAL-NYC and Positive Action introduced Candace Pert to 300 people with AIDS related concerns when she spoke to them in NYC with the hopes of recruiting them into her Peptide T - AIDS study.

Ian,
(I am laughing) No worries. I'll wait. When you read about the ideas of epigenetics (if it ever interests you to do so, in your own time), I would be happy to discuss it with you. It would be pointless to create a discussion about it when you aren't familiar with his work. That would be like asking you if you think my Saucony running shoes would work better for me if they had soft support or firm support for my arch? If you aren't familiar with running, how the shoe is made, and my foot, it makes the discussion a bit one sided. Just because I enjoy Bruce Lipton's ideas... doesn't mean you have to.

True story:
Cracked pots (especially the terra cotta kind) are such a delicious surprise.
For whatever reason, it allows air flow(?) or something and there is less incidence of molding.
Anyone who has ever had issues with mold growing on the bottom of their potted plants... should consider cracked pots.
I, for one, never disregard a cracked pot.

So...if there is mold and stagnation.... put a crack in it?!
