Hi,Everyone,

Can anyone advise me how to get PCT number or the best way of approaching, Hospitals, Doctors surgeries with a view to them refering patients to my Hypnotherapy business ?

I have contacted various authorities, but each time the goal posts appear to change.

Has anyone managed so far and if so how.

I would really appreciate your comments and advise.

You used to be able to get an NHS provider number by simply applying. The rules have now changed and you cannot get a number until you get a referral approved and paid for by a PCT. The NHS number is nothing more than an accounting code and does not mean you are approved by the NHS.
So prove what you do works. Prove you are ethical, effective and caring. And jump through any hoops they ask you to. If you want their referrals, which is also their approval, which is also their professional registration recommending you, and leaving them wide open to being sued if you're not who you are meant to be, you need to give them more than 'I want to make money out of people's suffering' as a rationale for your work.

And with the NHS, you need to prove that the patient/client is more important than your own profit margins.
Well said Henxy. Also, get the qualifications/accreditations they require. I started by doing voluntary work at a cancer support clinic and although some of the consultants were initally sceptical about the efficacy of hypnotherapy in palliative care of cancer patients they came to see it had it's uses especially for breast cancer post-operative recovery.
