Well, it's the holidays in the US and the scammers are at it again.  I just got this in my office 'In box" and thought everyone should know what's going around.  I fell for this one year until I was asked to return the overpayment that the US agent sent. So, be warned.

Hi Melissa,

I got exactly the same email today too, obviously I deleted right away, it smelled like scam miles away.

Cheers

Michael Z.

I got it too - I'm not alone!

I have received similar emails and I usually do not respond to them.

Cheers,

David

I never get these emails....   Probaly because they know my Filipina wife would eat thier scamming heart for making her country look bad....

I will forward mine to you so you don't feel left out.

Edna is much too sweet to do something like that.

The give away is when they want to send you money up front!  One of my friends here got the same email and really thought the person wanted sessions.  Her practice ahs been struggling so she was trying to figure every way to make it work.  I think I finally convinced her it was a scam.

I got one too. I'm sure they pick on every small business.

Hi, Melissa,

This is the e-mail Gretta and I received:

Greetings,

I want to book for 2 weeks checkups and counseling, 1 or 2 hours each day
Monday to Friday (morning or evening hours) for a group of 10. We will be
coming for a one month vacation/holiday from 29th Nov 2011 and in line with our
plans we will require 2 weeks Natural Therapy to help maintain healthy body due
to the nature of our job and also to make our stay fun. The checkups and
counseling should basically be on Naturopathic consultations or any other
Natural Therapy you can offer.

Please let me know if your clinic can handle this for us and get back to me
with requirements to enable me contact you with more clarifications. Also
confirm if you can arrange a one on one checkups and counseling for us or if
its better in group.

Awaits your email.

Melissa, I have received this one too. I am a part time faculty member for a hypnosis school here in NJ and one of the things I tell the newbies (especially the ones that have never been self-employed before) is to get educated on the various scams because it is really a matter of when rather than if someone will  try to con them. This includes emails like you described or the geeks who call you to confirm your "free listing" on their business directory, etc. The psychology of scams is fascinating and if anyone is interested private message me and I will let you know how to get a free copy of the e-book I wrote about that subject. Jim

I got on a little more subtle. See below.

This is a variant of the music teacher scam and the wedding musician scam. Some buddies of mine lost a chunk of money on the wedding musician version of this.

Interesting that they've picked up on the hypno-band . . .
