the Free Hypnosis Social Network
I have never had a mass of queries to turn into clients but it is now worse than that - nothing. I have relied on internet presence (free directories, my site etc), having wasted money on local newspaper ads. I am not a good 'talker' on the subject as in groups etc.
Is anyone else finding a lack of queries and any suggestions 'outside the box' - i even offered free sessions for 2 players from local footy team-they said definitely would be interested and am still waiting after nearly 4 weeks
thanks, Janice

I looked you up (hypnosis alsager) and you were 4th on the list. Your icon, however, on the map was covered by someone else. I think you can slide it out from the other one , but the directions may end up wrong.
I would advise against free sessions but you can do a pay for result offer whereby you have a discounted session fee, but the client pays when a quantified success is attained.
Good Luck

What is your niche type of session? aka.. your specialty?
Don't ask yourself where these clients would come from, but rather, ask yourself who would best send (refer) them to you and focus your efforts there.
I hope this help you

Janice, I would recommend checking out meetup.com for some groups that meetup in your area. Possibly groups along the lines of weight loss. I'm sure people would take to your stuff quite well.

p.s. if you have a website, do you have a free newsletter? If not I would recommend going to www.mailchimp.com and signing up for the free service.

Permalink Reply by Ricky Strode on February 26, 2011 at 4:52am One of the best source of clients is from interacting with the public (i.e. demos, having fun randomly hypnotizing people) and references. I get more clients from references than anything else, but I still go out there and have some fun showing the public that hypnosis does exist and it can help them. I promote myself everywhere I go and I think after a while the need to do this will be decreased somewhat, but it is def one of the best ways to get clients.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me here or @ rickystrode@yourin-trance.com. I love helping people.
Hi Janice,
I wrote a response to you, but as it got longer and longer I realized it should probably be its own discussion, because so many members of Hypnothoughts could benefit from the same tips. Check it out:

I have just opened an office in my home town. Actually, I have only been open for business since Feb. 2nd. I have put my business card in a local paper, advertised continuously on criag's list under the classes offered section, joined various business networking groups as a faithful attendee, and have dumped loads of business cards at many events, I have been lucky as I was asked to interview on a podcast right away. In March, I will be appearing on a local TV station for a 30 minute interview. I also have set up a table at various events alongside other businesses. I was recently the guest presenter at a business luncheon. Look around your community for any events connected with social and business networking. Facebook is an amazing tool as well. Thanks, Antonio, for mentioning Meetup groups as a viable option. I had fogotten about that tool.
Cheers
Teresa

Permalink Reply by Christina Cole on February 26, 2011 at 4:12pm I love meetup. I have been signing up and going to many meetup groups in the line of self help. From NLP, hypnotherapy, EFT/Tapping, to other interests in spirituality, macrobiotic cooking class, mediums, etc. All of these attract a certain kind of person who are proactive in self improvement, and I would suspect that they would be more open to trying hypnotherapy.
There are all sorts of sports meetup groups too from hiking, yoga, dance, etc. If you have time, perhaps mark a few of these events on your list and go so you can introduce yourself and meet new fun people.
I also use yelp, facebook, craigslist to advertise my other business.
