HypnoThoughts.com

the Free Hypnosis Social Network

I am new to hypnosis and unfortunately I have not practiced self-hypnosis as I should of. A couple of months ago I injured my back at work and was let go the day after my insurance kicked in. Now I have a bad back L-2 L-3 and no relief except cheap generic pills (No job fired, no Insurance). Any pain specialists or hypnotherapist mp-3s that can help with my understanding of self-hypnosis would be greatly appreciated . Sorry about any typos but I can only sit at the computer for a couple of minutes ata a time

Thank you Hypnothoughts people in advance

Hi Scott,

So sorry to hear about your back (have you filed a Worker's Comp claim?)

I'm not a hypnotherapist, but here's a video from the founder of HypnoThoughts, Scott Sandland, where he talks about a pain control technique that doesn't even involve a formal induction. I've used it myself and it's strikingly effective.

I think Scott might have pain control MP3s but my understanding is that they're normally used in cases where there's a medical referral. I don't know that for a fact, though. His office phone is 949-999-0831.

Good luck!

Hi Scott,

Double-click on the video and it will take you straight to YouTube. You should be able to watch it there.

Here is an article that may help.
Hypnosis For Pain Management - Relieve Sciatic Nerves
[Health-and-Fitness:Pain-Management] Back in 1999 I was involved in a car accident that it left me nearly paralyzed, my pain started with sore and muscle aches that gradually followed with sharp pains radiating all the way to my legs. My back pain wasn't just a pain; it was a battle of chronic pain where pain killer and other related drug were not eliminating my agonizing pain at all.

Hello Scott,

It came to mind that you might benefit from Richard Nonguard's posts here: http://www.hypnothoughts.com/forum/topics/autogenic-training-1

Richard also has a short video on his page on this site demonstrating the process. I have used it several times with clients, including one who has back pain similar to yours. My client states that the "warm and heavy" sensations are very soothing and help release spasming muscles.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery,

Kelley
Hi Scott, Back still bothering you? Im also a Reiki Master (long distance healing). If you would like me to send to you. Give me a General location just a State or Country and the time you would like to recieve it let me know. If so at that time you decided let me know and just sit if you can and don't cross your arms or legs as I send. I'll send for 45 minutes. When that time is up go back on line and let me know how it went and how you feel. I'll send more to you if you feel you need it. Sincerely Frank.
Scott

A) I assume that you are under the care of a licensed health care provider because you told us you are getting generic pain drugs -

B) If there is any damage it is likely that it would be structural rather than organic because you told us that you were injured on the job. My guess is that the doctor writing your scripts does not believe that you are at risk for pain related to organic damage or he would ordered all sorts of additional tests.

C) Ian writes: "Pain is the messenger who is telling you to take it easy, so natural recovery will evolve. (Think about it!)"

Okay - Let's think about it -- The belief that pain is a messenger who is telling you to take it easy, blah, blah, blah is only true with acute pain and if you are still having low back pain 6 to 8 weeks after an injury - the conventional medical view is that the patient is suffering from chronic pain rather than acute pain.

FYI: - "Chronic" pain does not give the patient useful information. -- That is, at least according to the hundreds licensed frontline pain specialists that I have trained in the theory and practice of Hypnotic Pain relief at a major medical conference for the last 3 years

Again, I am NOT a licensed medical doctor and the above info is NOT a substitute for medical advice from a licensed health care provider, but you might want to reconsider Ian's iron clad advice in light of this post and discuss it with your doctor, if you chose to.

Feel better-

Michael Ellner

FYI -

Scott, unless you have concrete evidence from a reputable clinician that there is no organic damage - ignore all (albeit well meaning) posts above.

Let us be sensible here, people. Unless we want another cripple in a wheelchair?

Ian
Thank you Jason I will give them a try
