hi everyone

 

has anyone ever treated Parcopresis/bashful bowel syndrome, if so if there is a script or a few pointers any help would be great.

Stephen, I have not worked with this condition although I have helped a few people with the similar condition of shy bladder.

Obviously it starts with a careful history of the client's situation, in particular the triggers.

Next, would be an educational process teaching this person that the problem is not in the bowel (presuming they can use the toilet normally when he or she is home alone) but that it is a behavior that was learned, albeit unconsciously, which means it can be unlearned.

From there it would the hypnotic ritual of your choice to help diffuse the triggers and rehearsal imagery that the muscles involved will function correctly with the correct balance of tension and relaxation.

Also, be careful to suggest a progressive, gradual relief of this problem rather an instant one since it is more believable to the client consciously. Good luck! Jim
