We do on the mental level by Hypnosis –NLP -Life Coaching
But many physical and mental diseases are totally result of bad life style
So we always need to instruct the clients to change the negative hobbit

That would depend on what the presenting problem is.
If I have a weight loss client then I would definitely give them infomation about what they should and shouldn't be eating. Like a few others here I used a metabolic typing diet that is adapted to the individual. I will also find out what if any exercise they do and adjust my recommendations to where they are right now and what there goals are. If they are very over weight then I will start with something simple like walking. I give them a pedometer (personalised with my company details on it) and ask them to keep a daily note of how many steps they do. I also give them instruction on progressive weight training to help them build a little muscle to boost their metabolism. I am not a big advocate of aerobic training from the point of losing weight. It's great for cardio work but not so good for weight loss.
If I have clients with anxiety or depression I will check on their lifestyle/eating patterns as well. If someone is drinking lots of coffee, colas, Red Bull and smoking that will definitely have an effect on things like anxiety. A lack of magnesium in the diet can play a great part here also. Diet also has a great effect on depression. In they are depressed mid afternoon it could be a symptom of low blood sugar. In fact a few years ago there was a book called Potatoes not Prozac that showed this link.
Also with clients who are depressed I will task them with walking everyday or joining a gym. There have been many studies where they have taken long term depressed patients and then had them exercising vigourously and in many case within 30 days they have felt much better. Because they have to change their physiology to exercise they will change their state.
However if someone is just coming in for something like smoking then I wouldn't spend that much time looking at their diet etc.
I agree with you that many physical and mental problems are the result of bad lifestyle. The problem that many hypnotherapists face however is are they qualified to give that advice.
My advice would be to net work with other professionals such as dieticians, personal trainers etc and refer your clients to them for the extra help.
This has an extra bonus because many dieticians and personal trainers often have difficultly with their clients sticking to their recommendations and if you can show them how hypnosis can solve that problem then they will be happy to refer their problem clients to you as well.

First off, that image is spectacular! Secondly, I like your reframe of a "habit" to a "hobbitt"! I know it's probably not intentional, but it's brilliant.
I agree with Barry about considering what the client presents with as a barometer of addressing things like physical activity. I'm not a nutritionist or a personal trainer but I am happy to refer people to such experts.
I DO explain to clients, such as those wishing to reduce weight, that overweight is a complex issue, with several tentacles of diet and nutrition, stress reduction, sleep quality, physical activity, habit control, motivation, etc. We then decide together the priority of these and begin to address them.
In addition, ALL of my pain clients have found improvement once they started to move their bodies. Even taking a daily walk outdoors makes a huge difference!

Great answer Barr
It could be a good idea to all hypnotists to learn about the subject
Only if a client will improve his life style in general way it can be great benefit
And always the hypnotist can work together with natural health practitioner that has the knowledge
Or any other good practitioners
hay Kelley
hobbitt- that was funn
And yes I just copy it from face book
Many times even we don't know the connection
External forces have much influence on our health
And if we can remove them or reduce them also our hypnosis will take higher successes
;-)
i give the one that realy need some mental help

Just my honest opinion which not a soul has to agree with :)

Its not that you wrong you are 100% correct [physical ailments have a Psychological rooted cause and the physical is the "effect" of that cause]
it's only that it's not a contradiction
Mental health and physical health are ONE
The spirit is living in the body
like we live in your house
And when we understand that we all whole
Then even when we know were exist our essence part and were our minor part
Yet its all one mechanism and it all connect and affect each other
And when we know that info we understand the important of the physical body too
in the processes of healt
A metaphoric example:
When someone work in toxic factory even that the reason to work there is from the MIND yet his sickness will be from poisoning

Permalink Reply by Angela J Jessee on January 23, 2012 at 3:24am Beautifully stated for sure. I couldn't agree with you more. Yes I do believe our physical bodies is really not who we are at all only holds the ability to manifest our soul and the purpose of our soul's journey through this given lifetime. As we work to correct our soul, which is why we are here on earth, I believe anyway, many times physical ailments, suffering etc...can be seen as the bridge to the wisdom of our soul. If something, we perceive, as negative, is happening on the exterior, it can well be our soul's way of pointing us to what needs to be corrected. If we do not pay attention to that, I believe we will be given the "test" time and time over until we do, whether in this lifetime or another if we do not heed the call. This is why I believe every physical manifestation is that of a psychological "cause" and we need to see our physical body as the "effect" and we CAN change that by changing and seeing the lesson needed to learn.
Permalink Reply by Donna Carter on January 24, 2012 at 10:11am Diet...affects how we think, feel & behave. <--this is serious. We are in a business that deals with all three.
It behooves us...to know all we can about good nutrition.
Just to name a few things that were mentioned:
Smoking... a sugar diet increases cravings. bad diet increases stress, increasing cravings.
Anxiety/Panic Attacks... diet, low blood sugar swings with a bit of inner ear, thrown in. (have you noticed.....about 7 out of 10 people who have panic attacks also have easily noticed inner ear issues?) Diet has an affect on the fluids in the ears. Don't rely on my info....check it out yourselves! Knowing this....allows you to give better suggestions because you know what you are working with.
As a side note: Here's a story... There was once this great river....with tons of water. So much water...it was hard to imagine life without water. One day...a company came in, built along the bank and...diverted, just a small amount (a stream of it) to his business. It made for good business. Then another day...another company came in, built along the bank and...diverted, just a small amount (a stream of it) to his business. It made for good business. And so on and so on, lots of companies. Until one day...down the river, it became noticable that the water was no longer flowing as it used to. So...the people affected by this, walked up the river...and asked the first company, "We see that you are taking some of the river water...do you know why our river is no longer flowing?" and of course...the company wanted to protect their own interest so they said, "NO...we have no idea, we just take a little, but here...how about you have some of our product." The people went away feeling great. They had just made a friend and what a great product! With each company along the way, they had the same result.
So...the people...feeling good about all the products they got, went back down the river to their home and sat down. "Well...we obviously need to look elsewhere... these companies just take a little."
uhh...
what?
*&(^%!#~breaking pencils~*&^(*%#!
cause...and...effect. What we allow ourselves to see, determines what products we have to give up or keep.
Cheers,
D.

IMHO....Another problem is determining what the definition of 'qualified' is. If someone, who has an invested interest...pays for the materials supplied for your education and then you go and hawk their items...it isn't exactly rocket science.

I really have no idea what you mean.
What i meant is does the hypnotherapist have training in nutrition, if not they should refer to someone that does.
